Here is another nice ceremony: the Pelebon (Royal cremation) of Ida Ayu Kompyang Sutarti Oka, which will take place at Puri Bongkasa (near Ubud), October 22. It will be a BIG event. The Royal Families from Ubud, Mengwi will be in attendance, and many other dignitaries.

Tin that is definitely a "keeper" I will be up for that for sure and I would recommend anyone that hasn't been to a cremation here in Bali to drop whatever they are doing and get to one ASAP. They are great and enormous good fun.

Nice pics Markit. Not want to be Anal but I thought this thread was for upcoming events. Not for yesterdays events, another thread would probably be more suitable.

Rangi - I deserved that. It's my party and I'll cry if I want to.

Tin - said pretty much all I know about it in the original invite - 4 villages, wedding, mists of history, big celebration, lots of people trying to stab themselves (offers of help were ignored, I didn't think he was trying very hard...), up a mountain, masses of dead, roast pigs. Oh and it rained, of course, first time in 3 months.

Mat - when are you back?
 
There is a three day Vintage Car Show happening on the 12th, 13th and 14th of October. This is happening on Pantai Mertasai in Sanur. Pantai Mertasari is at the southern end of Sanur a tad west of the Mercure Hotel.
The organisers tell me there will be about 80 vintage cars and a couple of hundred vintage motor bikes.
Rocktober will also be happening at the same location from 5PM every night. On the 12th it is local music, on the 13th it will be rock music and on the 14th it is reggae.
We all know what volume Indonesians use when playing music. It will be bloody loud.
Andrew who writes on this forum, lives about 40 metres from this location. Luckily he is currently in Germany. Sadly I am his next door neighbour and will still be here.
 
Thank you No (we are on first name basis, aren't we?). Like you won't be there bopping with the teenies too! You probably got the organisers to throw it close to your house so's you haven't far to stagger.
 
Ron, open your front door and sell your famous ice cold beer ...

I will offer my place for ultra secure parking of the vintage bikes .. I still have some space in the next container :-D
