    Do morons make you nervous?

Anyone else nervous? Recent political events in the US, and the speed at which they were promulgated, and especially the questionable sanity -- dare I say outright crazed approach -- of those at VERY high levels of government, make me a bit nervous that a long term living situation for...

    Bali Real Estate Market?

A couple of my expat neighbors have expressed an opinion that the real estate market was fairly flat through out the Island, and wondered how many others would agree? I guess this question was raised in my mind after recently visiting Ubud after being absent from that area for some time and...

    Walking in Ubud at night.

Just a quick note as a reminder to visitors to Bali. After some pretty torrential rainfall the other night in Ubud the already deteriorating footways are collapsing and in disrepair. 2 nights before the storm I was walking to a local warung and being aware of a gaping manhole in a dark footpath...

    Bali Earthquake.

About 2310hrs Bali time I was settling in for sleep and had just turned out the lights when everything started to rock here in Ubud. It lasted less than 30 seconds but felt like 2 minutes. It was a good shake, good enough to convince me to get outside my humble abode. Bali rocks! :)
