As my balinese father-in-law always says: Land is a good investment. Its one ot the few things man can not produce (and yes, I tried to tell him about the netherlands, where25% or so used to be sea, but that didnt count).

A subway in Bali? Thats even more difficult then a monorail, although better. Building in a densly populated area is even in european cities difficult.

I misread the original topic. I thought it was about a tram/train, not about a monorail. Monorail seems to be a little overdone indeed.

I think its a fine idea. Its a good option to solve one of bali's biggest bad points, traffic. Although I think that when it is finished, traffic has growns already to the old levels again.
