Hey Doug, we're putting in a pool ourselves, I'll let you know costs (and if it works) after we've built.

Best ask an expert. Maybe Bert will know. Don't know if you know this company, otherwise you could give them a call.

Thanks for the replies folks! Orang gila, are you utilizing a pool contactor for your pool? BTW, saw your pics on your project, looks good!
Bert, I presume that price doesn't include decking? Any input on filter systems, salt vs chlorine. Will record that contractor number for future reference. It helps to have a round about cost to begin the search for a contractor.
Thanks, Doug

Not a bad guess Bert!

Dug - Salt or an ionizer (?) and dump the chems, well most of them. Get a GOOD pump and watch where you put it, don't know why it's the norm for underground install here (?), who the f consulted on that?

DCC,
Thanks for your reply. Well perhaps it is a IONIZOR that I am looking for.I understand its a little easier on the skin? Where do you suggest to locate the pump ,and what are the good brands available?
Is there any pool contractors you might suggest or avoid? If you have any other tidbits of info it is appreciated!! If need can send a PM to:
dfretty2000@yahoo.com Thanks again,Doug

Hi Bert,

a 15 square meter pool will cost abt. 30juta Rp? Plus pumps and filters I think. I heard much higher prices.

Ist das nicht zu niedrig kalkuliert?

I am very interested to know prices from ready build pools, as up to now I did not build one because of the hight costs of min. 60 juta Rp for a small pool I was told by contractors.

We had quotes as high as that for a small plunge pool as well, but some friends recently designed and built a pool themselves; it turned out great which has now persuaded us to do our pool DIY

So far we only have the shell in place. As we are building on what was rice terraces, we had to shift heaps of soil, so rather than fill the land then have to dig it out again later, we included the support walls into the boundary retaining wall and filled around it. So, all we have at the moment is a hole in the ground.

Not sure when we'll finish the deal, concentrating on the Villa first.

I know it's off the topic...
Was there another price increase since Oktober 2007?

No - premium is still Rp4,500 per litre.

Dug , we put in a salt water pool about 3 years ago. The complete cost pumps etc but no salt chlorinator was Aust $8000 , size 7m x 4m x1.5m . I brought the chlorinator from Aus because of price. Paid for a self cleaning unit Aus $750. We now use a company called Mimba located in Ubud to purchase all our supplies and to do maintenance .ph 0361977453 great people and I think they will also build pools or can put you in touch with somebody who can build.

Hi Dug we are very happy with the pool and the system , but when buying a salt chlorinator you need to buy one that will operate the size of your pool LxWxDepth then add half again . We were told this because of its operation in the tropics. Works for us. Maintenance is 300Kg of salt a year I think its Rp75000 per 50 Kg and running costs of pool pump this is subjective depends on time and size of unit. We pay around Aus $25 per mth, chlorination very cheap, sorry cant remember. Mimba can set you right on costs for a contract . They will maintain and do all thats needed very reasonable from memory.

A friend living in Taman Mumbul told us that his pool of 3 x 6 m costs 80 Mio Rp. Thats the price I have been offered also in Jimbaran.
