Bali Unite – a Massive 3-day Festival of Music, Arts, Wellness, Food and Drink on the Sandy Beaches of Karangasem July 31 – August 2, 2015
(5/31/2015)
The black sand beach of Karangasem in East Bali will serve as the backdrop for “Bali Unite” billed by its creators as an “international music celebration.”
Scheduled for July 31 – August 2, 2015 – the three-day experience will offer a mix of international and local artists, yoga and wellness workshops, and a wide array of organic foods and drinks.
The venue for Bali Unite is the newly inaugurated 7Temples Eco Beach Complex located - a one-hour drive from the airport and a short distance from the main eastern port of Padang Bai in the regency of Karangasem.
Bali Unite expects to attract 20,000 music, art, and beach fans.
The festival begins on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 4:00 pm. On the following day, Saturday, August 1st, a full moon dance party will last run until the wee morning hours of Sunday. Sunday is scheduled as a day of family-friendly activities.
Reminiscent of an earlier era and Woodstock, a camping ground has been prepared with tents and sleeping bags for rent.
“We often say that music is a universal language because it unites people together,” says Rebecca Reijman, Bali Unite’s Indonesian music curator. “That is why Bali Unite welcomes a variety of styles of music on three separate stages: from up-tempo electronic music to alternative rock, pop, down-tempo lounge, and reggae: We have it all!”
The new 7Temples Complex and home to the Bali Unite Festival derives its name from the seven Hindu temples that surround the property. Festival facilities construction is already well underway, led by bamboo pioneer Amir Rabik. “The beautiful and spacious bamboo structures we are constructing are not only designed to keep our thousands of guests comfortable, but they are also fully recyclable and blend in with the 7Temples’s surrounding jungles and beaches,” comments Rabik. “We want to make sure that, in the long-term, we can achieve fully sustainable festival grounds.”
The organizers desire that the 7temples Festival site will become an evolving platform suitable for annual events and a 365-days-a-year learning center for Balinese culture and the global eco-movement.
