Hi all,

im looking to install one of these in my new car (APV).

the kind im talking about is the one you see back home - in a tradesmans van. They install them there in case of an accident so hammers/tools dont get cataputled into the back of the drivers / front passnegers head and kill them in a crash. steel mesh maybe inch by inch.

they are usually installed directly behind the drivers bench seat in these vans.

the rear (very rear) bench seat in an APV splits in 2, a single seat section and a double seat section.

i plan to remove completely the double seat section and make a square cage top to bottom, it'll leave roughly 1m x 1m space to create the "cage"

i plan to place all my diving tanks, lead weights, fishing boxs, golf clubs and whatever other potential objects that could smack us in the back of the head there whilst going on trips if the unexpected occurrs.usually wouldnt care but have new bub and head is soft.

does anyone know where these are made in Bali - or has anyone has ever even seen them? I dont think I have ever seen them here.

i dont want to go to benkel las if possible, cant imagine what the inside of the new car would look like if i let them loose with an arc welder in there. not not mention possibly frying all the electronics in the new car.

Regards,

Hinakos

i was having the salesman teed up to pimp the car for me (reversing cameras, in built bali gps, change cloth seats to vinyl seats etc), but found out he was just planning to take it to toko variasi mobil on jl sunset "after hours" and get it all dont himself and whack outrageous markup on it all

heres an exapmle of the extras generously offered to have done for me:

For the tinting
V-kool
Side right,left,and rear @5.000.000
In front @3.000.000

Huper optic
Side right,left,and rear @3.000.000
In front @1.500.000

Solar gard
Side right,left,and rear @1.100.000
In front @800.000

* For the spare electronic key 1.800.000.
*for the tv headrest 3.500.000 matt

* for the tape touch screen + Gps 4.750.000 matt (merk standart)

for the tape touch screen + Gps + camera parking 5.500.000 (good merek)

dunno if its standard or not.....but the tinting seems crazzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy - at least the v-kool anyway.

A cargo barrier must be fitted in Australia so they are made here to DOT specs
As for Indonesia you would have to have it made, good luck.

heres another reason i dont want to use the dealer - heres the real price of the headrest tv/dvd 1,550,000rp (admittedly not fited)

Audiobank DVD TV AB-770DVD/TV - 7? | Lazada Indonesia

but there's not much fitting to that, its a headrest.

the dealer has more than doubled it. when i plan on getting 5 or 6 different extras for the car it kinda adds up.

better to take to toko variasi myself. but toko variasi doesnt do the cargo barriers (i dont think).

Why not try a Karoseri. A body builder. The people who build the bus bodies onto the bare chassis. They may be able to put something together for you. I don't know where in Bali but I am sure google will tell you.

:topsy_turvy:

IMHO, you can only try what is available here and make the best of it.

Don't know if this would helps, when I made a claim at the car insurance company to fix all the crooked and dent body after numerous incidents, the insurance company sent the car to a body repair and modification workshop in Batubulan area called AUTO METALIC. Most of the insurance companies uses this place to do the repair for the crashed car here and I can't complain about any of their work. Maybe they can do the work that you want

They are located behind the Raya Batubulan road, between the Batubulan bus station and Hardy's Supermarket (on the same side). Just look out for a small access road that leads to the place.
