Magic in Bali to me is finding a clean part of the Ocean, getting harder and harder these days, and pointing a camera lump at it. Hoping this will soon take a monumental leap in image quality soon with a RED Epic Camera that shoots at five times the current HD standard.

Currently in the process of making a surf housing for it so hopefully watch this space and see what happens.

Cheers,
Mark.

It's huge. The camera actually shoots four identical files at the same time. The full size master and three proxy files, one at 1020P, another at 960p and another at 640p for ease of editing. The system uses a 64Gb SSD which at full rez will fit about 20min of footage.

About 1/2 a dives worth but would imagine final product would be worth it, you need to come up with a case design that allows a second SDD card to be installed while still under LOL.

At this level of underwater filming I don't swim along on a dive and film whatever comes along. It's all down to planning, lighting, setting the scene and then just waiting, hoping the bloody fish or whatever will do what you want / hope them to do.

Cheers,
Mark.
