    Adoption Part 2

Indeed a very good description of jealousy. I talked a few times with Santi about this (she also doesnt want to post) and she feels the same about this subject.

    How much to retire?

I'm 28 now. We plan to move to bali in 2010. I'll probably be 32 (born in april) before we arrive. There are, as I see it now, only a couple of non-monetary reasons why we maybe will postpone our move with a year or so. These reasons are good ones, I maybe tell later. But we are sure we are...

    How much to retire?

I plan to move when i'm 31. And I understand that this is a great blessing if I can really make that happen. To clarify my job. I'm more of a hedge-fund-manager/arb-trader for my own account. Not an investment adviser. Ofcourse this involves alot of knowledge about investing. Together with my...

    How much to retire?

I think we are drifting away from the subject towards my profession and (i believe) your former profession. Of course there are a lot of ways to get better results (although 2006 was a mighty fine year for stocks). I just wanted to explain that a person who has no good knowledge about Bali...

    How much to retire?

If you have 100k dollars and you want no risk, there is no-one in the world who guarantees 6% plus inflation. Only with more risk or in another currency this is possible.

    How much to retire?

Apart from my idea that 100k dollars is ways too little to retire, i would like to remark that you have to deduct the inflation from your intrest. So if you think you can live from 6k/yr now and you have 100k. You need to make 6%+inflation to retire. And long-term inflation in indonesia is...

Propery law for indonesian women married to bule

My wife has land in her name. So i know that is for sure. But the not so reliable source told me that the law just changed. But once again, I would put my money 1:100 in favor of Jimbo/Roy in this case (and probably in all cases related to Bali).

Propery law for indonesian women married to bule

I talked about this subject with some friends from Germany and one of them told me that a new law also makes it impossible for a women married to a non-indonesian to onw land. Wheter this is land owned pre-marriage or post-marriage I dont know. I doubt the source also.

Propery law for indonesian women married to bule

I wish I knew about this forum 6 years ago. I had exactly the same question then and it took me alot of work to get the right answer (wich is the answer Roy gave). Off-topic: were in the netherlands do you live. We live in Houten (near utrecht).

As a city I like S'pore. Nice mix of cultures. Not comparable with Bali I think it's also a nice place in the world in complete a different way.

How long for company setup and visas?

Re: RE: How long for company setup and visas? If you dont have a clue about what sort of bussiness you want, just dont be a entrepeneur! If you doubt, then for the time being only invest in lquid investments. If you dont know anything about stockmarkets I would do the following. For an...

    Wine, prices, importing, availibility

I agree with Thorsten that most french 1st and 2nd cru's are overpriced. But so are Lamborgini's, house in Monaco, big diamonds and first class stocks. Sometimes people just want the best. And I think you are right when you say that alot want that because they like bragging. But maybe the...

    Wine, prices, importing, availibility

Re: RE: Wine, prices, importing, availibility At least not overrated (and overpriced) as their french colleagues. But dont get me wrong, I love french wine also. But a good Barolo is hard to beat in my (not so conventional) taste.

    Wine, prices, importing, availibility

I also saw the supermarket-wines and their prices. They will do for the daily consumption, but not for the "special occasions" (like cristmas, eastern, birthdays, 1st day of the month, last day of the month, the birth of a batch of fishes, the first rain of the month and so on). But it seems...

    Wine, prices, importing, availibility

Hi, On all my visits to Bali I saw that the prices for wine are quite high. I have a few questions regarding this: 1. Is there a good liquor-shop in Bali with an extensive choice of wine? 2. Is it true that the tax on importing wine is 75%? 3. Are the more wine-loving creatures on this...

    Water Values

I keep cichlids from african lakes. They need a ph of around 8 and KH /GH's above 10. But low ph gives opportunities for other fishes. If nobody knows the answer I bring in some testing sets next time I fly (ohoh, how do I explain customs what the strange bottles with green chemicals are?)
