ok , i,m leaving for bali but going to Lombok Island and i,m wondering what hassel i will get at customs for a portable lyra player, its considered an mp3 player not big at all with a 3 inch screen very very small
it also plays movies and can be connected to tv's and can display pal format. There is no pornography i,ve read the customs erquirements
Also
I was wondering since i want to keep in contact with my girlfirend there, can i also bring a small 2-way radio ( Wakie Talkie) woud that be allowed? Customs says on several web pages no cordless phones , might they mean 2-way radios

I think a mp3 player would not cause any problems, but the walkie talkie I am not sure about....

A Walkie Talkie to stay in touch with your girlfriend?

The range of those things stays behind by a cellphone, so why not get a cellphone?

I've been taking a variety of equipment around Java and Bali for years. Some of the items I've never had a problem with:

Laptop
External hard drive
Multiple digital cameras
MP3, iRiver media player
Video camera
X-box (brought in from Cape Town w/o hassle)

I've never had more than an odd glance or two, and more than likely they were simply astounded that I could fit it all in my luggage! ;)

No worries.
