Hello Bali-people.

We have retirement visas (good for another six months when we return in Sept) but we only have one-way tickets into bali (no return tix yet).

Will they let us in?

Thanks,

Bill & Emily

If you mean you have a Retirement Kitas, with a valid MERP, there is no need to show a return ticket. to enter Indonesia.

When a KITAS holder departs they check to see you have a re-entry permit. But I guess you need to keep an eye on dates. The need for a ticket out of Indonesia is for tourists.

I believe all Kitas have the same expiry date as the MERP nowadays...they changed the rules so the dates line-up. Previously it was a pain as the merp and kitas expiry dates were different.

But a Kitap lasts 5 years and the MERP only 2 years ...that's when you have to remember to renew the MERP.
Note to self...Merp expires in a couple of months

We have one-year Retirement Visas. Does that make a difference? What is a MERP?

Then you have a Kitas. That gives you the right to stay in Indonesia until the date of expiry.
A MERP is a multi-exit and re-entry permit, issued in conjunction with your Kitas, which allows entering and leaving Indonesia as often as one likes until its expiry date...which nowadays is usually the same expiry date as the Kitas.
Check your passport stamp to make sure.
