RE: I have missed you all...

Hello Made
And hello to everyone. I am new on the forum. Sorry for my poor english. I have been in Bali in 1997 and since then I dream to return. When I returned in france I knew Bali was the place on earth I wanted to live. I have 2 children,a 15 years old daughter and a little boy 5 years old. I believe I had to live certain things before going back to Bali, and I feel that I am ready today. So here I am trying to find everything useful to prepare my trip. I first would like to come in february, I was proposed several humanitarian volunteer jobs in India, Mexico, but I was looking for something in Bali. I have 3 weeks, from february 15 to march 8, if someone has information I would be very happy to help.
Well for a first post... it is a very long one! I hope I didn't bore every one...

RE: I have missed you all...

Welcome to the forum Romy. When you come to Bali in late February/early March is it for three weeks? If you are taking your children to Bali, would it not be good for them if you were free to show them Bali.

There are many NGO's in Bali that can always use help and assistance. For short time visitors, specialist doctors who are willing to spend two or three days, maybe more, examining patients in the villages...well, this is always great.

We look foward to your future posts!

Hello
Thank you Roy. I will come without my children but will come back with them this summer.
My friend is a painter and designer and we would like to work in bali.Live part time in bali and part time in france. I hope I will able to meet people working in bali and exporting. Probably will be looking for a house to rent etc. It is a very old dream to do that, all these years I have been thinking of that but was to affraid to "jump". But now this is a new life!
I decided that I shouldn't wait anymore to listen to my heart.
Best regards

Dear Romy
Welcome to the forum
Can you be more specific regards 'humanitarian work'?

I understand utterly what you mean.

Don’t ever apologise for bad English. Being able to speak, never mind write, in a foreign language is incredibly good. Most English people only know one language and the foreign students normally score better in class on that one than them

Hi Romy,

Welcome to the Forum. I think it is great that there are people from all over the world here who share many interests about Bali. :p

So everyone understand when we made mistakes - after all for many of us English is not our first languange. It is not mine either.

Waouh!
I am so happy to read your posts! But of course, this a Bali forum! So I knew I would feel "home". Thank you so much for interest.
To answer to Gina and Iris, I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a very strong knowledge of medics. I achieved a first year in Medecine University. I learned about pharmacology, pathologies,a little biology... But most of all I am wheeling to help in any way. I know it is something I have to do, I am made for that.I can take care of children,women,babies...
I should have been able to come in february but I will be able to come only end of february until march 15. And hoping to come more and more often and more and more longer...
Thank you all for your "encouragments" about my english..
Best wishes to all of you

Dear Romy
Yes i saw your name listed in the CCF forum, I run the "Natural medicine and holistic health matters " section on that website.
My introduction of homeopathy came from trying to find a method of helping the sick and poor without the use of allopathic meds that have so many adverse reactions, the traditional indonesians use Jamu as medicine made from the plants that grow in indonesia. Since this type of 'natural' healing has been tradition for thousands of years the next step towards homeopathy was logical. Also made from plants ,minerals. I was brought up on plant based meds living in java as a child my grandmother used to give it to me for my illness, all my relatives have extensive knowledge on the medicinal plants of indonesia,it was a natural progression for me. Now i make a living doing this, and donate my time volunteering at clinics in indonesia and india.
if you want to know more about homeopathy either look at the ccf website (many posts on homeopathy) or send me a private message so we dont bore everyone here...............
Ibu Robin is wonderful, she gave me the biggest hug ever when we first met,she has the kindest soul, giving so much of herself in clinic in ubud bali and aceh sumatra.

I did send you a PM
regards the way bali works, time is at it's own speed there, you cannot get anything done in a hurry,or when you want it done. one must slow down and 'mellow out' as they say in california.
if you made contact, its just a matter of patients, waiting.
i had to make my plans 9 months in advance regards my volunteer work at ccf. specially now in monsoon season the phone lines can be down roads flooded all sorts of landslides in the case of ccf (crisis care foundation) the owner is a older aussie woman with difficulty walking ,her house is up the hill from the clinic and she does have problems making it down that hill. call her on her cell phone better than land line.
good luck
