Big visa changes

I wonder if anyone has solid up to date info re: some news I heard today about KITAS holders and 457's?

I am told that a new tax structure will come into play soon (and backdated to when you first got KITAS) in addition to the $1200 fee

Also I am told that with immediate effect 457's will no longer be issued (to be replaced with a six month 'mini KITAS'

Anyone in the know on this?

No, I haven’t heard anything directly saying this, but if it happened, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit. The majority of foreign expats on kitas visas in Bali are employed by one or another foreign company...so, the company pays the fees associated with that visa. I have always avoided a kitas visa.

Nothing would surprise me at all,just like the big promise to allow expat husbands to have dual citizenship and the kids too........what did they give us........a prolonged confusion.
Im still trying to find out what acctually goes on but nobody can enlighten me.
