if one is new to Bali where do you good people go to find local help/maid - is it just by word of mouth? I t looks as if its not a problem to find help & negotiate a salary ~ but does this include general houskeeing, cooking, errands etc? thanks.

I see many rentals are usually 1 year & some even have a 2 yr minimum requirement (balireals.com)!!! so i'm wondering is it easy to find a 6month rental (or even 6x6m option) even if prices advertised are for 1 yr? And do i need to pay up the 6months all in advance? cheers

hi - how concerned should one be about security when looking for a house/villa to rent? e.g. is it that risky not to be in a gated community? as i see rents are higher for those gate types. i'm planning to stay for 6-12 months. cheers.
