Reading the various posts in this thread I see some people intend/have applied for retirement kitas with limited or low incomes, relying on the Aust. age pension of about A$19000 p.a. Would this qualify under the guidelines/requirements as a 'pensioner fund' listed as a requirement on R.I. Consul website.
Also with a MERP option is there a limit to the number of entries and what would be the additional costs (approx.).
bundyrum
yes around 2 million for your multiple exit...and you can leave as many times as you want...the pension is good enough for your
retirement visa...around 8 or 9 mill...for both ..you will need an agent to sponser you or an indonesian wife..get your merp for
1 year same as your visa..and renew at least 1 month before expiry.cheers..

justification...lol...they don't care..but anyway ..god luv em..the guy who does mine is a worker, I've never met the agent at all...moneyy..moneyy....no honeyyyy...

The general statement is that US$1500/month income or pension is the required minimum for the Retirement Visa.
An agent is necessary to do the paperwork for the Retirement Visa and MERP so asking them is a good start. They usually 'fix-it'.
A MERP permits as many ins/outs as you need...there are no limits. The extra cost is negotiable with the agent but expect around IDR2.0 Million.
If you do not need to leave RI during the validity of the Kitas the MERP is not required.

davita. Thanks. I'm slowly getting my old head around the visa options.
So I could enter on VOA, extend, and consult/apply at an agent for retirement kitas during these 2 months. Then exit RI and obtain kitas at RI consul/embassy in Singapore or Perth.
Also as the kitas implies I will live in RI permanently (semi) would I need to have an air ticket etc. as proof of exit. I didn't see it mentioned in the guidlines?.

As has been stated many times...a Retirement Visa can ONLY be sponsored by a Licensed Tour Agent who is registered by the RI Government. The sponsor is thus responsible for the consequences of the visa holder's behaviour whilst resident in Indonesia. That is the justification of the costly agency fees.
An Indonesian spouse CAN sponsor for a Spousal Visa (Kitas) which does not require an agent. It can be DIY and therefore much, much cheaper to obtain.

Normy save yourself the stress and just apply to Bali IDE (talk to Yani) and they can get the ball rolling for you while still in wherever you are then come to Bali with your new retirement visa. Skip the VOA BS

Normy...you addressed your question to me so I will respond.....but agree with markit. If you have no time restraints you could write to his recommended agent, or any other agent resident in Bali, so shop around and agree a price for your requirement. They will probably need some deposit.
No matter where you currently live the process is still the same. Your agent will collate all the details you provide and hopefully guide you accordingly. They then submit the application to Jakarta and also indicate which Indonesian Embassy/Consul, in your home country, you wish your visa (Itas) to be stamped. This may take a few weeks or even months. On arrival in Indonesia on that Itas, within 7 days after arrival, you need to submit your passport to your agent who will then have the Kitas and Merp stamped and you will be good for approx. a year.
There is no need for a return ticket.
Your above proposal can also work but a VOA will need a return/exit ticket. The same process, after you choose an agent, will occur as I explained above except you will choose where you wish to go (S'pore/KL or Perth) to get the Itas stamp to return.
Normy
Davita, thanks again, and also Markit. I didn't realise I could organise the visa outside of RI. I will fone or email Bali agents, and get the ball rolling.
Markit
Thanks are great, Gouda tastes better :02.47-tranquillity:

I've just seen our agent for another extension to my Retirement Visa.
The last post here is already old and.....as the rules are slightly changed.... I thought I'd update.
I think it was smoke (on another thread) that correctly said that the MERP is now mandatory for any Kitas....but it now co-incides with the same date as the Kitas. It used to expire one month before the Kitas....which was a pain.
A Kitap is still available for 5 years but the MERP only lasts 2 years max. However, only takes around 3 days for renewal.
After 2 Kitaps the visa is indefinitive....all the agents laughed when I said that would be very useful to know 'when I'm 93'...to the old Beatles song....remember?
Smoke
Davita was there an agent price increase on it from what you paid last time. Back in july all immigration fees increased.
A sosbud increased about 50k but many agents increased 150-250k depending on number (1-4th) extension
Just curious and may be helpful to other members
matsaleh
Davita, can you tell me how much you just paid for your new Retirement Kitas, with MERP included? If you're not comfortable with stating the price publicly, could you please PM me? Thanks.
davita
Smoke and Matsaleh
My invoice price for 2013 and 2014 remained the same at Rp6.500,000 for the Retirement Kitas and Rp1.800,000 for the MERP, for each person.
As we have other business with the agent....and other reasons, he gives us a discount which, I'm sure you'll appreciate, I cannot disclose.
I'd also add that I discovered they will no longer issue the plastic credit card Kitas...back to the yellow paper card. Also, new Kitas holders will not be issued a 'blue-book' although, those already in possession will need to keep theirs although it will not be stamped...go figure...I was told it was economics...:icon_question:
