Geez my writing's getting bad  I'm under pressure!

i did a dummy booking, 3rd january till 13th january 2010 and the return total cost was $275 , and was available ie, i could have booked there and then. I was suprised being available at that time of year.
I do understand Jetstar are going to release a big sale very shortly, so hang on to ur wetsuit Aquaman, it might be from a city near you :D

So what your saying aqua is only one way is free and the return is charged as normal so i guess you really do fly to bali for free ( but pay tax ) but you dont fly to perth for free ! Hmm well i hope they can do a deal like that from melbourne because i only need a oneway but knowing jetstar there will be * conditions apply ,which will be that you have to book a return :|
Well lets wait then and see how they pan this one out :?
Actualy, its from perth only....sorry. but hey, i live in perth :D
 I was about to correct you and you only have until 10 May to book. Goldminer did you have a look at the booking process? As per earlier emails in this thread the booking summary on the RHS where there's usually (note correct spelling on this occasion I'm being watched :P ) a slightly higher fee (usually extra 70,000 for taxes I think). In this scenario there's no fee but the booking summary has 350,000 IDR for departure and 0 IDR for return with a total of 350,000 IDR. Convert to AUD you're back to $0.If anyone follows what I just said  Weird! But the promo on the their home page website says fly free from Perth to Bai so I guess it's free. Best check with them if you're considering the offer although even with taxes it would be a cheap as flight.

Cheap return flight for you :) But not free even ignoring taxes. Rereading the offer it is suppose to be free from Bali but not necessarily both ways? Looked at your dates which are within the offer dates but the bali perth leg wasn't free. Hmmm I hate misleading advertising. My normal tax amount in my earlier post was way off too so apologies if anyone listened to me........maybe a lesson there  Can't even remember now what flight I was looking at for 70,000 IDR
I doubt you'd get a cheaper deal from Perth.

No the link on their home page says "FREE SEATS" fly from Bali to Perth" suggesting the Bali to Perth leg is free (taxes would be added though). In my mind it further suggests there would be a fare from Perth to Bali (then add taxes on top). I've had a bit of a look and as Goldminer discovered whether they are free or not the total return fare is cheap anyway. But it's only Perth so yes you'll need another carrier. Does Pacific Blue fly direct to Bali from Melbourne? I used them from Adelaide and although the daily fares vary greatly they were the cheapest on the days I wanted.
Anton
Well ive checked virgin blue & jetstar fares to denpasar and both too expensive coming close to the $600 mark with tax so unless they have a specail fare at the time of booking i wont consider them, looking like air asia is the airline for me as for the perth run i guess they can afford the huge discounts as i hear people in perth take daytrips to bali to go shopping  hmm lucky for some something filius fog would have been doing once apon atime

1 problem Anton.......Air Asia don't fly to Denpasar from Melbourne only Kuala Lumpur :( Sorry....although you could get a cheap flight from there over to Bali but that's a bit of mucking around for probably only a small saving, if any.

Another Question on asia air :D
Now this is about baggage, with the booking system there are three weight allowances you can opt for now there is 15kg,20kg,20kg now is this just for baggage that goes down to the carousel or also you hand luggage ? do you have to pay for your hand luggage and are they picky with the size of the bag ?
Sounds like you might have a few bags to squeeze in?
Aqua im just abit wary as not to be slugged by the baggage polisi :P im not taking too much but not sure of the weights at the moment and i would like to get the weight correct at time of booking as it says on the site that you can get a big discount if you prebook your luggage, i will only have two bags one will go onto the plane via the carousel so i dont want to get caught and slugged, most of my clothes i will give to charity as it wont be any use to me in asia as im not returning to australia for quite awhile i will be burning my bridges so to speak.

Anton or is it big boy?
Weight allowance is for checked baggage (in cargo hold). You don't have to pay for hand luggage but if you have too many or 2 larger bag(s) they might make you check it, if so then you'll pay extra. It cracks me up sometimes when I see some people arguing with checkin staff why they can't take 1/2 a tonne of hand luggage onto the plane. Most airlines I've used aren't particularly picky with the size of the bag within reason and as long as it can fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat. Sounds like you might have a few bags to squeeze in?

have you ever travelled anywhere outside OZ? I only ask because you ask some very basic questions that you can get the answers from at source.
You ask where is Stanstead in relationship to Heathrow? Are you so naieve you cannot look up the answers on the internet without having to revert to a forum on Bali?
You ask about baggae as though you have never been on a plane before or even read about budget airlines. Answers are on Air Asia website.
One last gripe is your 4 noble truths at the end of every message. Please lose it.
Sorry woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Fares look good, so this could be a possibility for a visa-run from Bali to Perth and back. Anyone had experience with Indonesian Cosulate in Perth? How long do they take? Are they easy to deal with?
goldminer
Hey ron, it appers they have new aircraft as well, airbuses  As far as perth consulate is concerned, we deal with them a bit, as well as some friends. They seem ok and reasonably fast, but my wife is indo, so that may help. Bet you never thought you would have a possiblity of visa runs to Oz.
ronb
Thanks. Actually we did think of Darwin, but haven't done it yet. But this time round Perth looks to be a winner.
