iPhone for me when they are released on 11 July :D :D

;-) mmm, Iphone is a real pretty toy - my brother in law an I continually bicker over this.. He's a 'power user' of the iphone so to speak.. I can still type on the BB at almost 3 times the speed.. That's the problem with just using touch screen as an interface.. The new BB (the Bold) incorporates both, touchscreen but maintains a physical keypad.. I guess if you want music and entertainment the iphone is ok, but for corporate push email, data sharing, etc, BB still holds the market..

Hi Gina
Sounds like homeopathy = loony to some people here - *sigh*
Funny though that so many people rave about natural Balinese remedies......

:-) well I'll be off for the next 2.5 hours or so.. Am already trafficing down towards the runway, listening to the hostesses of «CARRIER NOT NAMED» spurt off their emergency instructions in 'english'.. I'd understand it better if they were speaking japanese and I don't speak a word of japanese :-)
Next post will be from sing-ding-sing-a-ling... SINGAPORE!! (Hopefully while dining on lamb curry!!)

Gee, doesn't this Blackberry have a built in cam?
BaliLife
no i'm afraid.. am on the 8700 series.. i'm guilty of being addicted to the older BB with the trackwheel on the side.. one day, i'll need to move with the times i guess and go for the newer series.. but while they're still making 8700's, i'll stick with them..

Holy shit...
There is absolutely no shortage of disgusting toilets in Bali. I know because I've cheated death many times, (by not falling into some of them).
Ones that particularly bug me include, for example, the two cubicles they have in Hardy's Supermarket, Sanur. As far as I can tell, they are the only two public toilets in the immediate vicinity. I don't know how many people work in that place or how many customers they have every day. And there are no "toilets" in the warungs next door.
Just guessing here, but maybe 1,500+ people use them them on a regular basis, (ie,daily). They might be the most used and abused toilets on the whole planet. ("Toilets" here have many functions, including a place to have a bath, wash, sex, etc. Not only to do one's "private business". Is it any wonder that they're in a total state of disgrace?)
Methinks no, not at all. I just wonder why places like that can't or don't build some more toilets? Seems simple enough to me. They've got the room. They're happy enough to charge everybody Rp 1,000 for parking. Maybe they should charge for using the toilet.
In the end, (no pun intended), it all might be just a part of "living in a turd world". (I've used that term before and I'm sticking to it. No offence aimed at anybody.)

I happen to be very partial to Macs as well. I started on a Kaypro, but the next one was an Apple II. I'm on my daughter's Toshiba now, but next week when we get moved back here, I'll have my iMac back.
You can count me in with Doc and Mimpi as being “a'bali'tized”...that is for certain! Maybe it’s you and SG with the issue problem...that being, still too Westernized?
Not sure if I get your logic...spend vast amounts of money selling Indonesia as a tourist destination to the world and then say, sorry but our toilets are disgusting. And you have to quickly de-westernise yourself to our lessor standards if you want to come.
Sorry but you can't have it both ways.
And while we are at it, why is so much of the beautiful island of Bali treated as a rubbish tip by so many people that live there?
Witness the Bukit Peninsula...from one end to another it's covered with trash and garbage. Such a shame.
Once again, as with the traffic, where is the governmental action to rectify this. I sat in a villa in Ubud recently and the field next door was literally covered in filthy garbage, much of it had been there for a long long time.

I'll let you know when I get mine. At the moment I use a normal phone even with all my music and pictures on it. But BaliLife I gather you use yours for business, me I don't need one for business. I like it because it is Apple. Yes I am sentimental, I worked for Apple for about 16 years in their dealerships. I was there when the Macintosh was released. Also from Lisa's to Apple II. I know the difference and the quality (of the output) far outways anything else on the market. Unfortunately I am one eyed on this subject .
Each to his own hey

I tossed around the idea of an iPhone for a week or two but got turned off by a friend that works for their Australian ad agency. She's dumped hers for a Blackberry on the grounds that it's pretty, looks cool but it's functionality for business use, even with the new 3G model, is shite. All gloss and little substance, and hers are free!
I bought a new iPaq instead last week
milan
And how's the iPaq? What is it?
Soon, I'd too get something but still can't determine whether to wait for the latest IPhone or just get a Bb and which Bb would you recommend?
I don't need it for business use but more for personal.
However, I do need to go on line with my Bank from time to time to make transactions, do I need to carry my laptop when I travel as that's what I intend when I go to Jkt in a few weeks time.
Your input would be much appreciated.
