The iPaq is the Hewlet Packard PDA. It comes in many flavours but the latest is the 612

It's like an iPhone for grown-ups (that'll get the Apple acolytes going but the phrase came from my friend who works for Apple's agency when she saw it)

Milan - if you're new to blackberry and you want the best, go straing for the new model, the 'BOLD'.. It is gizmo rich, looks amazing and kills the iphone, technically (so the reviews say).. It has touch screen plus a physical keypad, its super fast with HSDPA and a 624mhz processor, fully loaded in terms of multimedia, GPS, WI-FI, and lots of others..
I want to get one eventually, but like I expressed in my previous post, my first ever BB had the side trackwheel, and I'm so used to it that the prospect of going to a model with a centre 'ball' toggle is slightly daunting.. But eventually, I'll make to move..

Typo..
"best, go straing for the new model"
shouldve been 'straight'..
Bert - this is quite wierd, but this morning I can't access the forum at all from my laptop, but I can from my BlackBerry.. Those nameservers must be discriminating.. Hehehe..

Hi Everybody,
I am pleased to join this group and look forward to interesting and informative conversation. Finally after such a long time waiting and find this website is really interesting .. i can feel the good friendship here "fingers cross"

Welcome Chintia! I hope you find the forum useful, the archives are full of stuff that is quite helpful. You certainly chose a weird thread as the base for your introduction. And also an interesting week to join since the forum has been off for a few days then back. Enjoy!

Hi Chinita and welcome :D
But perhaps as a Blackberry novice, it wouldn't make a difference. I hope so.
yeah apparently people who never used the trackwheel models are perfectly happy with the newer designs, so i think you'll like it..

Thanks SG and Balilife.
I've highlighted your suggestion so I could use it as reference when the time comes. The only thing you did write somewhere that the trackwheel is user-friendly as it's practical whereas it is no longer incorporated in the new design. But perhaps as a Blackberry novice, it wouldn't make a difference. I hope so.

Yesterday we went out to get the blackberry but guess what? As always, Italy is behind. There's no Bold Blackberry and so I opted for Curve 8320 which I like too, but nope! Italy doesn't have them.
I guess I'd have to wait until my visit to Indonesia (although preferably Singapore for this kind of purchase).
Still, we're going out later to another store.
milan
Thannn...kkk....you..., Balilife. You're so very kind. And I am following to your every suggestion on this.
Alright, did go out to see in another store. But no hope.
Went on E-bay, found in US but no shipment to Europe (besides how about the difference of plug/electricity, etc.).
Nothing on the UK one.
So, now...back to square one. Don't know what to do so I'm sort of taking my time and see what comes up.
Never mind. But at least I get the picture on what exactly I should opt for.
Terima kasih, ya?

Milan,
The charger is universal, 110 - 220 volts. All, you need is a plug adapter like you would for any laptop, a few dollars or liras in any electronics or hardware store. Furthermore, practically everyone on eBay ships all over the worls, if you ask.
Good luck.

Hey milan, yes that doesn't surprise me at all, but it's probably not 100% attributed to italy being behind.. RIM (the makers of BB) are really anal about controlling the release of the units into new markets.. Even Singapore has a pretty crappy selection of BB's, and its IMPOSSIBLE to find any genuing RIM accessories in singapore.. You see RIM, unlike Palm, Nokia, Motorolla, etc refuses to sell accessories through 3rd parties on a wholesale basis - so my understanding is that a 3rd party can resell the accessories, but they have to purchase them at full price from RIM, just as you and I can online - so why would we buy it from them.. The market which of course gets the ultimate picks and first releases is the US.. So my suggestion is, go onto eBay, search for the exact model you want - do your due dilligence on the seller, and buy a NEW one there.. You'll get a great deal - then ship it wherever you want it..

Thank you, guys! You're so helpful, really.
Good to know, Daniel. And what a super site, Bert. So, I guess I'd just have to wait until Jakarta? I don't know if I could be that patient though.
I'll go over the site tomorrow as it's past midnight now and I'm very sleepy.
Ciao, ciao!

Sorry to have to get back into this thread again, but I've checked all over and the prices vary.
I don't understand. From America (even though still not yet found those who can ship to Italy except for Bold Blackberry and I prefer the 8320 one), the price is around US 350-400. When go into depth at their description. It has not software or instruction it says.
Then the one from UK (the Bold one), it costs almost 500 pounds sterling!!! Wow, that's exorbitant!!
So, now I have a feeling I might get something here in the end. But still don't know which one as they don't have the Bold nor the Curve 8320.
Want to wait for the IPhone which comes out 12th July. Don't know yet.
:? :( It's dizzying!
