depending a bit on how long you have in mind to stay on Bali, there's another option...
pay an Indonesian company to hire you..... lets say 10jt
pay the USD 1200 + costs of IMTA (not expensive) + costs of IKTA (not expensive)..... lets say USD 1400
pay for your KITAS.... lets say 6jt
Then you can sponsor your wife and kids for a KITAS, wich obviously you also pay for.... lets say 3 x 6jt = 18jt
That would come down to 18jt + 6jt + 10jt = 34jt add 1400 USD (14jt) to that, and it would be a total of 48jt for the whole family.
no need for NPWP, business licenses, filing tax reports,
as for the link...me personally think "they heard a bell ring, but don't know where the bell is"
"Minimum capital requirement to start a PT PMA is for ALL industries 10 billion Indonesian Rupiah."...-what about industries that are not open for foreign investment, so not "ALL"
"10 billion IDR investment plan should not be confused with the minimal capital requirement for running business in certain industries, such as banks where the liquidity of the company is necessary to protect the consumers." ...-BANKS??? a foreigner can not own/open/operate a bank, so stupid example.
"As long as you keep your compliance in order, you will never have to worry about your minimum capital."...-ehm, yeah duh..if I can comply to the investmentplan/growth means that there's at least 2.5M in the bank as min.capital.
there are some more examples, but I think the above examples are enough to paint a picture, for me to never ever ask them for any advice regarding doing business...but if Miss Marlissa wants to do a "business-diner", I'm game :D

Ok....getting nervous.
Kids started school again today after Thai new year break......last term of school.
This mean we are just 3 months away from departing...or arriving, depends on how you at things.
Just doing a little budget for my own benefit, I like to humour myself....can some help with a few costs please...roughly and roundabout but educated roundabouts would be good ta.
Motorbike costs per month....buying a couple of classic vespas, so running costs on average for such. (shall be hiring a couple bikes no doubt in the short term until said classics located down the track...I believe that can cost circa 500k a month is that right for rental a month ?)
Car costs...same same for a car...most likely going with my sons request for a VW combi. This really is taking a step back...but I dont care anymore...it also gives me the creative freedom to incorporate the vehicle in Art classes during homeschooling....4 sides to a car, 4 people, paint a side each with own design etc.
Thanks.

happy newyear :icon_biggrin:
those 3 months will go so fast, that I hope you've got everything ready for the move..
prices for a scooter (matic) like for example a Honda Vario vary between 300rb - 700rb a month..so your 500rb a month is middle of the road price..might be wise to check if they for example provide 2 helmets and check what insurance is incl. within the rentalprice.
prices for a car, for example an APV vary between 250rb - 350rb a day, prices per month have to be negotiated. Have heard of people paying 5jt a month but also people who paid 10jt a month, same car at different places.
The VW combi is not going to be easy to find, let alone find one in good condition and complete paperwork.

Nothing ready to move...except the shed. well even thats not ready to move shit into just yet...nearly.
We travel light.
We were not thinking to rent a car...just the bikes for the interim until we find our own and then when a car pops along that is suitable.
Thanks for the info.

nothing ready, hahaha....I like the "don't worry-be happy" preparation :icon_razz:
I also would advise against renting a car, it's way cheaper to buy a young 2nd hand avanza, wich you can sell on when you get tired of it.

Tigers, RX Kings, Mopeds etc...all except one who went for a heavily customised Kaiser Harley lookalike...guess who got pulled over on a regular basis?
got to say when on my Harley 9 times out of 10 I get waved thru with a few thumbs up from the coffee drinking Polise Use the Real One

No intention to rent a car...only bikes for the first month or 3 till we sorted....then buy a car also at some stage along the track.

...Guess these days the men in tight shirts on Bali seeing an expat on an expensive imported bike think 'well there you go, another happy resident living and spending money on my island'...
In East Java they did... and still do... and probably always WILL think 'He must have money, how can I part him from from it'

Having never been to Sanur actually....how much is a taxi from Canggu to Sanur ?
And.....who knows what the Farmers market is like at ...cannot remember name of place now...somewhere in Sanur anyway.
Joe Writeson
Passenger to taxi driver 'I want to go to a place in Sanur, I cannot remember its name nor exactly where it is, how much?'
Taxi driver takes out HP and speaks in Javanese 'Hello Darlin, you know that flat screen 48 inch TV you were on about? Well go ahead and order it'

Keep tryin...you'll get there one day...

not sure on taxi but Farmers market is on sundays diagonally from Hardies . While you visit it take a walk up the street and visit
The Ducks Nutz Hotel Bar & Grill | Budget Accommodation in Sanur Bali for lunch

It's just a guess but from Canggu Club to Hardies store (mid Sanur) would be at least Rp100,000 on a Blue-Bird taxi meter and take around 45 mins on a good day and 2 hours in traffic. The traffic jam on Raya Canggu can be a pain. Fortunately, the wait time on a Blue-Bird meter is not expensive.

Thanks for that...obviously ballpark is not an issue.
The member...I believe....that has a scooter shop/bar....I thought that was also in Sanur, is that correct ?
If so, how far from the Farmers Market ?

DENTISTS....the scourge of the earth in my world anyway...I hate them.
But, any good ones in bali ?
Both for adults...and particularly for kids if anyone has a recommendation.
Thinking to maybe have some work done prior to leaving here....but, hating them so much, I will put it off for as long as possible.
I have 2 broken teeth that need fixing one day.....worried one will need the full monty...root canal and all that....they usually require a few visits with a month or more apart and might have run out of time here to do that....but no problem waiting, been broken for a year or so now and you cannot see them when I smile cos I got fat cheeks.
