@simsiam my a1c test costs about 120,000 at Prodia. They call you once results are ready and you can visit them to recieve the lab report no need for a dr to read it for you really and yes they even email the results to you also if you want

Re hospitals and costs etc.... Since a doc told me last year I was a fat bastard..and had high blood sugar....I have had 3 blood tests to keep track of it. First 2 were at international hospitals and the costs were circa 700-800k idr. For shits n giggles I decided to go to the local thai hospital to get it done this last time as did not want to see a doctor, just get the test paper result and go, no need for quackery.......somewhat depressing these hospitals, walked past a room with a chair and stainless stirrups up in the air, no curtains, open doors both sides, obviously the birthing suite.....anyway, blood test here cost circa 160k idr....but included having to see the doctor to get the results read......I had included the test results from previous tests from inter hospital, completely different format and a big blue stamp with the inter hospitals name on it....so doc sits down, looks through the results and starts reading from the other hospitals paper....ferkin ijjits....I had to point out the wrong paper...then she goes to sign off and the nurse had to tell her where to sign....lordy....but still saved 500k or more.

Finally....some commitment....sponsor letters arrive on mundy. Tickets not booked yet. Off to Bangkok for visas week after next. Not packed yet. Half stuff moved.....only lost one cupboard roaring down the highway....splinters now....but did not break the mirror...thats good luck right ? Nowhere to stay in Bali yet...homeless

I'm told the schools are great, digs are cheap and the food excellent around Gillimanuk. Can't recommend Karangasem as it's a bit loud at the moment with them machine gunning and napalming all the rabid dogs and the smell isn't so great either.

heres a thing I forgot to mention.....someone said embassy may not need onwards travel proof...is that the case...someone else recommended to bodgy one up......the visa agent said word for word... 'depend the immigration officer, usually not need-usually need'

Yes, little bit more for the renewals...but I'll try to get it down for 4 of us once there, pointless via email.....anyway, rate not too bad considering......might just try it myself one month to see how it goes...for experience sake. But going there 3 times month after month will not sit well in my books... Clothes is all we will be packing...but kids wanna bring their super speedy dune buggy remote cars for the beach.....maybe their guitars, but they never practice here so doubt they will there. Oh and contemplating to bring my yogurt maker. Can you get yogurt at Karangesem ? Never mind if cannot, might start selling it there....kindergartens need lotsa milk.

They NEVER ask for onward tickets unless you are Australian. Course the Indos also want to move the Ozzys on as quickly as does everyone else. The only airline that I've heard insisting on an onward ticket (vested interest, do I hear?) is Virgin but the immi themselves couldn't give a toss. Frankly they really aren't nearly as ferocious as they are made out to be - if one should ask then just explain you will be getting the Kitas through an agent when you are in country and compliment them on "their" new airport and how friendly they all are... kiss the brown ring as we all do. Don't forget to point out that as you will be moving to Gillmanuk that it is nearly Java anyway so what's the problem?

NYC USA embassy wants your onward ticket along with proof that sponsor can afford to support you. Penang Malay embassy will not process your Sosbud with out an onward ticket.( even with a old exit date ) Cathay Pacific will not let you board plane to Bali without an onward ticket. AirAsia not care from SG,KL,or Bangkok that I have seen.

Cathay Pacific once made me buy and onward ticket when I was flying from Hong Kong to Bali. Air Asia from Phuket to Bali asked to see an onward ticket or itinerary. I think it depends what visa you are on. The times where I was asked for a ticket or itinerary was 4 years ago and I was coming in on a VOA. The times when I travelled to Bali from Singapore with Air Asia and was on a SOBUD I was never asked for any tickets or itinerary. As back-up I always make sure to look up onward flights routes with dates, airline names and flight numbers in case I'm asked for an onward ticket I can easily show them an itinerary without actually buying the tickets. I believe Garuda actually does flight reservations without taking a credit card number, but you have to do it over the phone and they won't email you a flight confirmation or itinerary until you actually buy the ticket, but they do give you a reservation number/code which you can use as proof of having an existing flight reservation out of Indonesia.
