My wife and I have been living in Bandung for several years and are planning to move to Bali within the next several months. We are in the last year of a retirement visa/KITAS so next year will be eligible for a KITAP. We are wondering if there are any potential issues/gotchas involved with moving from another part of Indonesia to Bali. Specifically are there potential problems with the transition from KITAS to KITAP if we move before the KITAP application?

Also, we don't own a car but do have a motorbike. It looks like from other posts on the forum that bringing that to Bali and registering it here will not be a problem. Is that correct?

Any other advice for someone making this kind of move would be appreciated. We look forward to joining the community here.

Thanks,

Kyle and Kathy

Welcome to balipod.
It will be good to be in the Regency you plan to live in when changing to KITAP. So if you have only been on KITAS 3 years, you'll could stay in KITAS one more year while you seek your place. Use an agent in Bali.

Hey Kyle and Kathy. I would be interested in hearing why you are choosing to move. Bandung and Bali were the highest on our list when planning to move to Indonesia.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations, you have won this weeks prize for the oldest thread resurrection. :)

The OP was from 2017 and Kyle and Kathy were last seen on here in 2018.

But don't worry , someone else may answer your questions. Some may be answers you want , some not..

Cheers
Ken
