Re: RE: are domestic maids in Indonesia living as slaves?
Hi Sergio,
Do you mean me maybe when you said this, because I can remember I made a post like that in another topic.....but actually I meant that concerning happiness....of course you need money to get these girls out of this...
well, I got offered some jobs....as a teacher at a local school. But it would only pay me the local salary, which is about 70 euro per month (or even less!!) they can't arrange a work visum for me, because of the costs....it's only interesting if you are already married and you are able to work...
Only 1 more week until I go to indonesia!!!!! time goes really fast niki/nicole! don't worry about that month. especially if your working time goes really fast!
everything is not that cheap in bali, we already discovered that.....especially for foreigners...every costs increase about 300% or more :(
so Sergio, you are right.....there goes the bali dream! But if you only want to spend a certain amount of time in Bali, like we will, everything is more...
for every kind of work (even voluntary!) you should have a work visum....which is very difficult...I'm already not looking for work anymore because companies usually don't want a foreigner. You can try to work 'gelap' but that's really risky and I don't take that risk
Hello Iris,
His family is quite easy. we will be living together in Indonesia also and his family thinks it's okay. But we think about some wedding ceremony for his family and friends, but to really legally get married later in holland.
About the jobs....I heard the government will take out...
In holland it doesn't make any difference anymore if your married or not, it's really only about the income. Or do you think everyting goes more fast if you are married. A friend of mine arranged everyting in 2 months, but it took her a year to get the right job....
I don't worry so much about...
Hi,
My fiance just left a few hours ago to Indonesia, he will already search a house and a job....still 3 weeks till I go there. Wow, it really seems like a long time to me (normally we are always together....) And I'm already a little bit afraid we have to be separated longer in the future...
Hmm, I read this topic now and it makes me think. When I got my social budaya visum at the embassy nobody told me about registering to the police..How should I know about these things? Or will I be told to do so when I arrive in Indonesia?
RE: All the newbies....
Be carefull with the people that you meet through internet. I have experience with that myself and people are always different than what they say they are, no matter how nice they can write to you in internet....
I have absolutely no clue about if you should leave your...
Maybe you can fly with Airasia? It's usually cheap....
I had to buy a flight from Holland already, so I used singapore airlines to go there (about 180 for a single ticket) but my boyfriend will use airasia...
Good luck!
hey, did you hear of the social budaya visum with the code 402? (422 is for family/friends) This one is supposed to be for voluntary work, but they never told me about it at the embassy in Holland. I just saw this in the passport of my friend who will do voluntary work also....
Congratulations Becky with your job! I've been trying to find a teaching job already for many months now, but it sees it's not that easy. May I ask you, do they arrange a work visum for you?
Ehm..I was wondering...the agents in Bali are able to arrange social budaya visa...but are they also able to provide a work visum? And how does that work? They "invent" a sponsoring company? And does it cost about 100 euro per month?
how about (voluntary) work on a social budaya visum? is there a big chance to get caught while working? I was not so worried about my social budaya visum to do voluntary work, but now I'm not so sure anymore. but the organisation doesn't give me anything else then social budaya visum.
