GeeDee I stayed at a 2 bedroom + private pool villa just before christmas for 5 days, go straight up the gang across from bintang supermarket, only cost $560 Aud. you need to look around while you are there, some great deal around.

I know a lot of members don't like the travel section but the airport - Candi Dasa got 48 replies so I'm not going to be deterred. I have used Uber on 6 occasions now and Go-jek 4 times. Uber, I just love it maximum fare so far has been 22k from Uma sapna Jl Drupadi to Krisna on Sunset rd the lowest to Bintang supermarket 10k. I am getting better at it and due to traffic the order is going in 5 mins earlier. The maximum time I have waited has been 8 mins the best 3 mins. Drivers nearly beg you to give them 5 stars as a rating ,the last one couldn't speak English and had it written on a4 paper. Go-Jek best time 2 mins longest 5 mins. The fare has always been the same 15k this must be the minimum amount as I tried checking a much longer distance and was still 15k. In the past it's been a hassle telling taxis to put meter on and arguing about the price etc. Both Apps are easy to use and would recommend both of them. I also give them 5k or 10k tip is this the right thing to do ? Because these services are so good and so cheap it could mean you don't need to stay in the heart of the action and pay premium price you could easily be 5 or 10 mins away and pay half the cost of accomodation. Do Uber collect and deliver to the airport or is "them fighten words"?

I just checked on app as you can get fare estimate and it seems they deliver to airport. Quote was 36k - 46k (all depends traffic and tine). This hotel quoted 200k.

Got another 2 x Go- Jek today myself and son from restaurant that we walked too( wife stayed in villa). Girl from restaurant amazed to see bule using Go-Jek she was laughing,told me she uses and you don't tip, we did anyway. They don't offer helmet and I know it's dangerous for a 14y/o boy but hey he really loves it and the sort of highlight of his holiday and he keeps asking and it's probably millions to 1 chance of accident and can't keep him in cocoon forever.

That's what the hair net (showercap) is for. I've never used GoJek though except for sending documents. Kuta to Sanur 17 thousand.

You can see before you order there exact location and you can track them. You also know the price before you order. You can send them to collect food,pharmacy etc. coming soon Go- massage Go- clean. Such a simple but great idea

The driver was very prompt, not much waiting. You can follow the process along and you also get a notice after your parcel is delivered. You can then also give a rating to the driver and I think this rating keeps the drivers on their toes. Oh, and cash payment. No need to register with a credit card. If I wouldn't have a car/motorbike I would probably be using Uber and Gojek a lot.

Fred I agree, I personally could live in much cheaper place and did look around but my wife had her heart set on this place,her sister actually lives very close to Bintang and she came and checked it out. Wife then pressured me to book this place (Uma Sapna ) and I gave in quickly as she loves her holidays and looks after me well. I think there's also a bit of the Indonesian status thing as well, her future in laws are coming from Bandung to visit on Friday. This place however is stunning ,service is great and the restaurant is rated no2 in Seminyak. and right now US$490 per night.

You can't delete a post after a certain amount time has elapsed. I can't remember how long, but I think it's around 10 minutes. The reason for this? If you are in Canggu area Uber driver said they have big problems in this area
