sherm Looks like a common era photo... shipping containers maybe in the background and perhaps rubber raft in foreground. See! I notice things!

joji gulapetis If it had a low limestone fence between the hotel grounds and the beach? If so, most probably the old Kuta Beach Hotel….. huge grounds and the bungalows spread out sparsely …. a bloody awful place to try and find your bungalow at night after a few beers….
Rangi Well I am not exactly sure when that photo was taken, but the lady is Ni Nyoman Pollok. Born 1915, Died 1985 Nick name Ni Pollok She married the lucky man Adrien Le Mayeur who arrived in Bali 1932

davita Don't know much about photography but suggest the pictures of the gorgeous Ni must have been taken nearer to 1915 than 1985. Also, the guy she married arrived in Bali in 1932 but looks like he'd already gotten a retirement visa before she sponsored him as a spouse....:icon_wink:
tintin Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres, the dirty old bule par excellence...(or am I just jealous?:icon_sad:). He also was a damn good painter, my old "friend" Jason Monet's opinion not withstanding.
davita Good Post #270 Tintin...I saw his bio on Wiki.... he was an interesting fellow. According to info there he married her when she was 18 and he was 55. He's my new hero!
davita Markit wroteShhhhheeeeettt! Don't everybody do that? Well I had a good try as my honey is 21 years younger but his was 37......I say wow!
Markit We already know what you are :abnormal: but I suspect the level of cradle robbing might be academic. Frankly those that say (at our age) they would like something 18 or abouts aren't after companionship but a "show piece" IMHO because to try and keep up with the appetites of an 18 year old girl would hospitalize most of us now.
davita And that's why I know you are not posting from Karangasem Markit...coz the internet from there is too slow. More like Siloam, ward 5, nearest to the helicopter pad and communication tower...:icon_e_biggrin: edit...I'm assuming you were successful in your quest for the little brown skin ladies...alluded on previous posts.

One hell of a way to go!

There, but for the skin of my teeth.
Markit Ahhhh the nostalgia! I remember those ruts and those bushes just like it was yesterday... Cause it probably fecking was yesterday! Come on Rangi, I do believe we are being fecked with. Prove it.... or does anyone recognize those coconut trees?
Rangi
Prove it.... or does anyone recognize those coconut trees?
You prove it is not true. Show me what that area looked like then if it is not true. I trust the source. Ubud 1982
