I wish we could find an ISP that just use a radio transmitter from our roof, we were told by the surveyor from GlobalXtreme that we need to put 32 meter triangle tower in our property to get this connection :icon_rolleyes: The reason is because there are many high trees around. Spicyayam...may I know which ISP do you use? How much they charge? Anyone knows Planetbroadband (internet over powerlines? Thx again, Wati

I bought a mobile modem at RTC in Denpasar and then went to Telkomsel to set up the provider service. It is a much better service than the slow dial-up at our homestay.

From previous threads on this forum, you will find that Telkom Speedy is about the best service around. Of course it depends on the quality of the phone wire connection from you to your local exchange. If you are having wet weather problems it suggests a problem somewhere on that local line to the exchange. I think it is not so easy to get this fixed (also true in other countries). So, the most discussed alternatives (on this forum anyway) are the USB modems that connect via a mobile phone network, costs about Rp400,000 for the modem, and about Rp200,000/month for a plan with Telkomsel or one of the other networks. Check out the recent discussions.

I spend 420 aud dollars a year on Internet on the phone and Express VPN, The breakdown is 20 bucks a month for 50gigs and 160 bucks for VPN. To use on my computer i tether it and i have as much internet as i want also with the VPN i cast it to my tv and get anything i want on the tv including all internet, for better reception i connect the phone to the TV although it really does,nt need to, tethering saves a lot of extra dollars

Not sure I understand your message but if your point is you can use a VPN on your phone to access overseas services for example TV via tethering to your phone, then why not just get a wifi router that supports VPN and voila every device on your network is connected, native - no tethering, no messing around ... just always on. That's what I do.

Ok, I risked it and opened the little thing on the bottom. Wedding Can Coolers?? Ok, I admit they are ok but as I guessed, Jack is in/from the good ole USA. Say no more :) PS, We call them Stubby holders here in Oz and even though our culture standards are not high, I don't think they would be a hit sitting on the Bridal table here...
