Hmmm earthquakes first time I have heard of this. Time to research that also. When should that volcano blow :)?
It's more than 30 years ago - it was a 6.4 or something - see https://balipod.com/forum/threads/earthquakes-in-bali.3236/To us that may not count for much - but to insurers it does.

Hello peoples of Bali I have been to Bali twice the second time was in August. I have have a husband that wants to move to Bali in three to four years, he is serious about it and I am very nervous about it so I guess it's a catch 22, I'm trying to do my own ground work my worries are leaving my 18 yo son (only child) leaving my beautiful friends, being able to cook without power going out, medical issues and not having my Doctor there. I guess im just sending out feelers to find out how lonely and safe it would be to live in Ubud. Kind Regards:icon_rolleyes:

Welcome Mimi. A few brief comments:* your son and other friends will visit because you can get good prices for Perth-Denpasar* cooking - the power does not go off much, and anyway you use mostly gas for cooking* health - search the forum for BIMC, you will find positive and negative comments, but I think they are good* keep coming back to Bali and try staying in a house with a kitchen for a longer period if possible
