Hi Alan and welcome to Bali and the forum. I guess the bloom of being in Bali hasn't yet worn off yet. We've had the crappiest weather in the last 6 months so you may have a better stay ahead. Tell us a little about where you came from, why and what's your plan for a future in Bali....might be helpful for us who bitch about generally everything...hahaha.

Hi Davita Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm in Bali every few months since last year and moved here last year Sept. Started a massage business here in a wrong time:( Now closing the business here or maybe looking for someone to take over.

Oh! My! ...sorry to hear that but my Javanese driver has an expression for folly businesses in Bali....roughly translated he says "open in January...closed in May!"

Om Swastiastu fellow expats, i've visited Indonesia many times for holiday and extended stays, and fell head over heals in love with Ubud. What a glorious place! Currently living in Sydney Au, but preparing to retire in Bali. Incrementally prep'ing for the transition, which will take some time. i have 2 aged feline fur babies whom will pass on in the next couple of years, then i will be free to move. Hi welcome to the forum,,,you are at A similar stage to me,,visited 12 x times now,,I am very happy around the Sanur area,which is where I am looking for a villa and ultimately live/retire. ,,but have been all over the island,,Ubud is beautiful,,, I,ll be back mid august,INA few days,,,,,hope the quakes are finished for now,,staying a month again,,going to see if I can volunteer ,to help the people of Lombok,,,have been builder in oz,,45+years,,,physically not as fit as I was ,but knowledge and experience probably makes up for that,,even though their style of construction is very different,,it's still just a box with windows.
