Hi Hinakos,You write "I was transferred here, my western girlfriend is also working here" So that means there's a KITAS, and therefor can get the membership in the normal way. But even without the KITAS, you can get the membership easily , stop the nowhere leading talk with the girl at the counter, or even the manager, ask for the owner. .Anyways take care, friendly greetings.......Gilbert.

Hinakos.... surely you can work out that Markits posts are ment to be a bit of fun and start some form of dicussion , ..........this forum may be steady with visitors as Bert keeps saying but is continuing its downward slide.............Hinakos why not make some positive posts on what you have contributed and put back into bali since you have been here, the extra little things that you gone out of your way to do.... I am sure in 7 years you would have put something into the community......it would be good to here we could all learn from your expierience here..

Well I didn't realize that "she who must be obeyed" had been demoted from BWIU to BWIW. Must have been the proverbial "Freudian Slip" or maybe I secretly wanted to be found out. Please keep it to yourselves - my life wouldn't be worth living if she found out that I have a Martian girlfriend here on Bali that goes to the fish market for me every day

You ruffled my feathers and i jumped into an assumption. Im done with the golfing, the $$ are just too crazy now. Will play when i go back to oz for yearly holidays.Anyone want to buy 2 sets of left handed golf clubs?with the money i get from this sale i intend to buy myself a few sets of rose coloured shades............ 8) 8)
What you call a "dhasuskim visa" (kemudahan khusus keimigrasian) is, legally speaking, part of the group of the Izin Tinggal terbatas (ITAS).I won't comment on the "working on business visa" part... :) Sorry for the off topic...

hi nakos,You're funny and that's all I have to say about your post regarding your seamans Visa.Regarding working on business-visa...maybe you see doing business the same as working? I however do not see it as the same.Jimbo...'nice post that's the way to do it' you are refering here to what? the statement about visa? the apoligizies to Markit? the pink sunglasses? Kabim....Thanks for the full indonesian name for the 'seaman' visa, I was trying to find out what dhasuskim was, in which group of visa's it belonged to. So thanks for clearing that up for me.Markit...ambisextrous, hahaha. yeah must be if you're seeing an alien on the side.just joking buddy.friendly greetings..........Gilbert.

So thanks for clearing that up for me.
You are welcome :) I think that Hinakos don't understand what a KITAS (Kartu Ijin Tinggal Terbatas meaning Short term/temporary residency permit card) is, and possibly confuses it with an IMTA (Ijin Mempekerjakan Tenaga Asing) which is a Foreigner work permit. An Izin Tinggal Terbatas Dahsuskim is given for a maximum length of 1 year to seamen and obey to rules almost identical to others ITAS (ie: izin masuk kembali, POA...etc). However this is the ITAS which can not be converted in an ITAP (permanent residency permit valid for 5 years).

Gilbert/Kabim.Im not an indonesian immigration official, nor a lawyer.I get sent to parts of the world i cant pronounce (often) and dont question the stamps in my passport which are provided to me by foriegn govts via multinational oil companies. Visas are not my field of expertise. At 36 years old im on my 5th going on 6th passport (the last 3 were 64 pages each), so excuse me for not being as up to speed as you guys on this.457, 501, dahsuskim, i dont really care, and neither do the people who offer "discount" at hotels, golf clubs etc. If it aint a "KITAS" you're paying full price.Kabim, please feel free to come down to the golf club when im back in town next week and spread your knowlege of how the Dahsuskim is part of the "ITAS" family and it will still get me nowhere. Im not confused about the differeces between these diferent visas/permits, i just dont really care. I just wanted to be paying the same amount as the lexus and merc divers at the golf club.....which is kind of what this kafuffle was all about. Isnt this dead horse already flogged...?Someone hand me a sackcloth and some ashes pleeeeze.

Hi nakos,I just wanted to help you out...based on the info you gave.I cant help it if you don't know which visa you have, but by the info given by you...would mean you do have the right to pay the same as the Merc/Lexus(toyota) drivers.Since you're travelling alot...never learned to 'tawar' on all those travels? Further more, if travelling for 'multinational' oil companies', dont you have an expense-account? So why care what you pay, since it wouldn't be coming out of your pocket?Anyways...I understand you've given up on golf in Indonesia..too bad since there are some nice courses.friendly greetings, Gilbert.

Hi KaBim,First of all let me thank you for your info of 27 Feb 2009.I have sent 3 letters to the General Manager and Vice Chairman of Panin Bank in Jakarta and copy to the Bandung's branch, dated March/ May and July. NO answer NO acknowledges. :x Yesterday I went to the Panin in Kuta, next to the memorial and ask them about this bull sh**. They've told me that Panin never and ever applied something like this in the past and not planning to do it in the future. My question is: how the hell Bandung/Jakarta managed to do this :?: :?: :?: I will fly to Bandung next week, Tuesday 15, and my plan is to go to the Bandung office and have a VERY NICE conversation with them. Of course I will let you know the outcome.I was reading you post again and you mentioned that I carefully read it today and can definitively confirm you that it is a flat 20% tax for anyone, foreigners or nationals
can you let me know where did you read it or better still post the relevant article. THANKS. Even without is ok since Panin in Kuta already confirmed this but it would be better to have it just in case. Thanks againL.
