Come on Thor...
Some "people" have meticulously harvested this forum to find personal information in order to re-use it for lies.
I remember this girl who met people in Bali who knew already a lot about her, from this forum....

OK, I have something to say about this whole discussion. If Thorpe's point had been only to prove that a moderator was indeed needed on this forum (Republicans always talk big about freedom , but they are the first to advocate "moderators"!), he could have invoked Boraks' Kazaskhstan, or some other fictitious land. But no, Thorpe's true repressed racist feelings came through with all his pointed insults toward the French people. Any intelligent person could see that.
PS. As mentioned before by someone else, I would urged Thorpe from Iowa, whatever his true name is, to have the courage to come out with his real name, or change his alias to Mickey Mouse or something like that, and stop insulting the memory of a great American, who had been wronged by bigots like him and Adolf Hitler himself.

Just for the record, I know Jim Thorpe, his wife and kids very well. There isn’t a racist bone in his body or in the bodies of any of his family. Sure, he’ll be voting for McCain, and I’ll be voting for Obama, so what?
You can knock his politics all you want. I sure do. But don’t call a man, one who I consider a very good friend, a racist. You’ve never met the man, and you don’t know the man. And, why should he “have the courage to come out with his real name” when you enjoy using tintin for yours? I recall an old French saying, “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander” but unsurprisingly, I think that has to do with sex. :P
Jimbo
Maybe there is a case of moderating in moderation or moderation in moderators. :P
Jim was trying to prove a point, unfortunately he went over the top in doing so.

When I wrote,
“Based on some of the following remarks by some people in your Blog, I just hope there will not be some nasty consequences following your inexcusable indiscretion.
there was absolutely no "partially veiled threat," as you wrote, on my part toward anyone. My concern of possible "nasty consequences following your inexcusable indiscretion," had to do with some possible harm done TO ME OR TO MY FAMILY, by some of the cooks who populated your Blog.
You can always poopoo and dismiss my concerns, but what you did was TOTALLY inexcusable by any standard of decency.
When I was in Bali, I was indeed called Pak Daniel, also Bli Daniel by some of my good friends, and more recently, sometimes, Kak Daniel.

Stop pinching until something explodes.
Some of the things Roy did on his blog were simply "very not done", and I can understand people are (more than) pissed.
I have asked Roy to delete the blog, and he did. for me that's it.
I kindly ask you, to take the discussion about what happened (between the two of you) from the forum, and do it privately, and not refer to it in other posts.
And, its time you meet on Bali, next time tintin is there.
I'll join, make a movie, and put it on Youtube, ok?

Right, I don't know Jim. I should add that in Jim's case, the word "racist" is incorrect in this context, as there no such thing as a French race. Jim's delirium was a question of "prejudice" against the French, which I know he harbors, based on some of his past statements and hints on this forum. One of the definitions of "prejudice" is "an irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group."
Regarding Jim's "name", it was inappropriate to ask him to use his real name, but I also asked him, as had been suggested by someone else previously, to change his alias from that of a great American athlete.
As for my user name "tintin," I might as well use my real name, now that you published it on your Blog not long ago. And not only did you publish my real name, but also my addresses in the USA and in Bali (the only info missing was my telephone numbers). How's that for breaking a basic forum rule? As Bert just reminded people again
The thing is that personal information can be misused. And it has been on this forum....
Thank you so much for revealing my true identity, Roy. Much appreciated. Based on some of the following remarks by some people in your Blog, I just hope there will not be some nasty consequences following your inexcusable indiscretion.

Good grief Daniel! It would seem to me that anyone who actually lived in Bali for some years would understand that their “real name” would be common knowledge, even among the local Balinese! Or, during that “time” were you called, “Ba Pak Tintin?” I think not.
Then again, when such a person, like yourself, exhibits such angst over the obvious, then one could ask the question again...did this person ever really live in Bali? It seems clear to me that if you wished that myth to propagate, then it would have been wise to not touch it again, here, and now.
I appreciate your concern, partially veiled as a threat,
“Based on some of the following remarks by some people in your Blog, I just hope there will not be some nasty consequences following your inexcusable indiscretion.”
I can assure you that I am quite safe, comfortable, and highly trained to deal with “nasty consequences.” Then again, if it’s a nuclear bomb, I will fully admit that I am totally unprepared! :P
On the other hand, it would make for a great news headline:
Pain in the Ass American Expat nuked by a French Nuclear Physicist!

What can I say? I am not paranoid about who does, or does not know who I am, or where I live. It’s easy to find, for anyone who wants to know. Same as you. Your information came right off the internet...and with ease. So what?
This is kind of weird Daniel, because just a few posts ago, you were telling Jim Thorpe to “come clean” and make his real name an internet reality. Now you admonish me for giving away what seems to you a state secret!
The real irony, and unexpected from someone who is a supposedly highly intelligent doctor of nuclear physics, is the fact that had you not brought this up, as an issue here, likely no one would believe your full name and address, as offered there, was valid!
Geez Daniel, you’ve gone and shot yourself in the foot! On your own, you’ve gone and confirmed the validity of your own personal information!
Great irony Daniel, and I guess from past experience, you know how much I adore irony.
Oh boy, I think this is going to be fun...coming back and all! :P

I'll be in the front row with a large popcorn
