Kitas is for a specific period of time. There is no multiple entry Kitas. Kitas relates to your entitlement to be in Indonesia. The MERP stamps determines you're leaving and re-entering. The MERP stamp should be in your in your passport.Rather than endlessly renewing Kitas every year better to get Kitap which is for a 5 year period.
Thanks everyone, I thought the stamp in my passport was the Kitas. I see it. Now I am confused about multiple entry. I assumed I had that. The stamp in the passport is good for one year. Do I have multiple entry rights? Or do I only get one exit and return? This is confusing for me. Can I say go to the States, Australia, Singapore all within the time the Merp is still active without having to pay for entries? Please clarify this for me? Thanks

MERP sticker/stamp in the passport is identified with text "LIMITED STAY & RE-ENTRY". In addition the KITAS permit number and issue/expiry dates will be included. With this MERP sticker/stamp one can travel in/out as one see fit within the expiry date. At least that is how I operate without a hitch so far. MERP (Multiple Entry Permit) should also be identified on the payment receipt from imigrasi.

Mine just says limited stay and reentry with the day it was issued and date of expiration, with the bosses name stamped below with a number like that. And the little blue stamp below you have. Does this mean I don't have the Merp? What do I have to do to get this Merp stamp also? Pay my agent money?

Multiple entry exit rights means you can go and return as many time as you like within the period indicated. No extra fees.

First I want to say. It has been a pleasure to revisit the Forum! I truly do appreciate all the helpful input over a delicate and serious situation. It shows that the forum has a future as a meeting place for all. As you all know this is not something the new comers even have a clue about. I don't know what the future brings but I am encouraged by all of your helpful words. Let's take it one day at a time and raise a glass to all, Cheers!

My goodness....is it that hard to understand how it works ?
Yes it can be hard to understand. Dealing with documents and regulations is not something everyone knows what to do. That is why we help people to learn to do this. I understand now, thanks to the many friends here on the forum. When you learn to ride a bicycle you have to fall a few times before you master it.

Mistakes can be expensive and complicated to correct. All the best.

Mistakes can be expensive and complicated to correct. All the best.
Yes you are correct about mistakes becoming expensive. This is the same for the whole world, not just "exotic" countries. We have to slowly learn how to exist in the social order. A child doesn't understand money, contracts, paperwork, debt, bills on and on. Much of this is a manmade fabrication to keep us under control and afraid. Look at the religions in the world for example. They teach people to be afraid of an almighty God, that they will never see or talk to. Only a few are allowed to be the priests and have this right, which gives them power over the masses who become like sheep with a Shepard. If this makes people happy then that is fine. I cannot judge others for their beliefs. It's just not my cup of tea.
