Hi there, great detailed report. Just wanted to make a few a corrections here as I've been to this hospital and you definitely DO require a NIK number (the ID number or they will not vaccinate you).umm not true.I got my first jab at rsbm and they asked for the nik. I dont have one and it didnt matter. they only need the nik to register the shots on the gov data base. with no nik you just get a hard copy letter stating the jab was done
Interesting when did you get it? I believe the NIK thing maybe changed along the way either that or I got some really anal security guy who refused me. Written from personal experience.

FYI I got mine on the 14th of July. I had tried the online booking system without success several times so the day before I phoned the hospital, (0361) 4490566, and explained my situation (68 YO, Australian passport and already had first AZ vaccine in Australia) and the woman that I talked with had excellent English, was adamant that I, being classed as elderly and therefore priority, needed nothing more than my KITAS and could just walk in without an online booking but I got my Indonesian wife to call again and comfirm this just in case something was lost in the translation - same story. The next day at opening time it was my wife who talked to the official on the door so I don't know if the reaction would have been different had I been alone. BTW within an hour the queue was around the corner and out of sight so I would definitely recommend arriving before opening time which was 8:00 on that date.

I think it's either the age group or kitas or both that is getting you guys over the line, I am much younger than you and if you translate the government stuff the priority is locals and on elderly foreigners, not the mid 40s I don't quite qualify for that group yet.I'm still watching all this play out. It has given me some time to get all the information I can which is obviously still unfolding in front of our eyes.

All foreigners in Bali with NIK can get the vaccine. NIK is issued along with SKTT (for Kitas holders) and the number remains the same when a person converts to Kitap and gets a KTP. For foreigners on other types of visas, eg business visa, it's really hit or miss. Some have had success but most are turned away. Sort of makes sense as there are 70,000 plus foreigners on temporary visitor tourist/business type visas in Bali (compared with around 25k on Kitas or Kitap) and I doubt the government is keen to bear the burden of injecting them when there are still Indonesians waiting in the Q and vaccine supplies are limited. Also, without NIK there is no way to be entered into the national database, so there are obvious issues with auditing the distribution and use of the vaccines. Having said that, it's Indonesia so usually there is a solution. For someone without a NIK, one approach is to talk to your banjar and see if they can help. The number two guy, the Klien Dinas, is in charge of relations between the banjar and the regional and central governments, so he'd be the guy to connect with. Many banjars are quite keen to see all of their residents vaccinated. Another advice is to try and get a surat domisili (residence letter) from your banjar and then seeing if you can use that to get jabbed. Some people have reported success this way. Finally you can go to your local government clinic (Puskesmas), take along an Indonesian friend or your partner to assist with pleading your case (and ideally showing your surat domisili), and see if they can help. I'm pretty sure that there's a way to get vaccinated if one is persistent enough.

I got my first shot 2 weeks ago and have a retirement kitas. For those that are interested the trick to using Speed ID is to be on it at midnight, thats when the dates rolls over. Pick the 60+ box (second from the top big "L").make sure you put ya name and age....dont get carried away with writing just put "john 60" and send. you have one chance as it fill up super quick so no need for unnecessary writing..hope this helps
