Some people are saying the media is trying to scare us with news of the new variant. If you need to travel check flight aware https://flightaware.com/ that the flight number has been flying recently. Just because they'll sell you tickets definitely does not mean it flies. Pretty confident I'll be in Australia soon.

It might be of interest as to circumstances of return to Melbourne Australia from Bali 7th November. A freakishly lucky period. I had to return to Melbourne for medical reasons from early July but not possible because of Covid. In hospital in Jimbaran and Denpasar where they were lining me up for all kinds of treatments, surgery and dialysis, none of which I wanted as money was disappearing like turning on a hot water tap. Then early November Melbourne decided to allow returning without quarantine and various conditions followed by Sydney. At that point transiting to Singapore from Djakarta had required 14 days quarantine. This changed to allow transit passengers to stop over in the transit area without quarantine. To enter Australia as a citizen required a 72 hour travel advisory notice, an entry permit for Victoria, two vaccinations and Covid testing within 48 hours of the flights. My wife has residence in Australia but her entry visa had expired. A couple of days to fix that. If I had taken the first available November flight I had no Multiple exit re-entry permit which would have nullified my Kitap so returning would have to start visa applications from scratch with all those immigration office visits and a lot of money. Had heard of people having passports withheld and waiting a week for processing. Delayed flight and got Merp in three days. Left Indonesia on the 7th November. It took Singapore Airlines check in person one and a half hours in Soekarno Hatta airport to check my protocols for flight clearance Now with ever changing rules it seems a small miracle to have got through.

Governments, CDC, WHO are systematically taking the panic and fear mongering approach. Whereas we could expect them to do the opposite. And of course the media and social shit things all add oil on the fire. I wouldn't want to see a REAL disaster hitting our world.....

I actually don't watch that much MSM but get most of my info from just a couple of what I think are relatively level headed sources. The main one is just this guy in the UK who tries to present the situation in a way that even I can understand (not being a doctor myself). You need to complete the Australia Travel Declaration (ATD) before travelling to Australia. It should be done at least 72 hours before your international flight. There is one positive light shing in that some reports from South Africa suggest that whilst this variant is more contagious it is less of a serious risk to health. Lets hope this is correct

I agree with Markit's points... What's the evidence of Dr. Campbell's bias? Quoting research that has not been peer reviewed is not a crime, and I do believe he mentions that his sources of information are or are not peer reviewed, as the case may be. What I like about him is that he is not afraid to call out the establishment (eg governments, regulators and big pharma) for their biases and profit/power motives.
