As far as Immigration is concerned the price of all visas and merps etc are separated although a MERP is now mandatory and its validity lines-up with the Visa. Previously they always expired a month earlier...a real pain.i.e. since June 2014 the fees are....A spousal sponsored 5 year Kitap costs Rp3.5 M. The extension when the first has expired is Rp10 M.A MERP for 6 months is Rp 600,000...for one year is Rp 1.0 M and for two years is Rp1.75 MAn agent may roll both into one, and give you a packet-price, but they are separate. When applying for a 5 year Kitap it will be granted with the initial 2 year MERP; thereafter you will need to apply for a 2nd 2 year MERP and a subsequent 1 year MERP. These costs should be discussed with your agent or kept in mind if DIY.[/QUOTE]re the merp for kitap , i was lucky to miss it on my application 2 years ago , I understand there is a 2 year merp on my lifetime kitap at next re newal , to be honest this is BS , why should I have to pay for a merp if I do not use ? smells like "screw the bule" it stinks

Fred2
The process from Kitas-Kitaps around 6 weeks, shorter if immigration don't muck you around. when you have your Kitaps you then apply for your STM,KK,KTP, must be done within 1 month. Or thats how mine went anyway.

Thanks tel522 and Fred2 good info...mainly for those who are applying as DIY. Most of what I'm in process is done by the agent....all I've done is get my mugshot and fingerprints and....of course.....shell out big bucks....:greedy_dollars:

It was either last year or the year before that the MERP was bundled with the KITAS, no separate fee or applications as they used to do it (perhaps with agents they still charge separate fee for the MERP, but as far at the KITAS goes, the MERP is included (and maybe this is just for spouse sponsored KITAS). I will be interested to see what the situation with the MERP and KITAP is this time around. Every year going to immigration everything always changes, new rules, new prices, etc. I was supposed to get my KITAP last year but immigration said I couldn't apply in Bali because my husband has his KTP from Lombok, and the only way of doing it was to apply for the KITAP in Lombok, or change his KTP and family card to Bali, which we recently did. We were also told last year that there's a limit to how many spouse sponsored KITAS can be issued to an individual, that we need to sort everything out and go onto a KITAP.

I have a Kitap for 5 years, did I understand that MERP is only valid for two years and has to be renewed after that?
davita
I understand the maximum MERP is for 2 years. I suggest check your passport and see when your MERP expires.

Here is a copy/paste from an Atlantis post in 'Living in Indonesia'. He is considered an expert on these affairs and reads/writes Indonesian....you will notice that the MERP, depending on validity, has 3 separate prices."[I][I]As it has certainly been discussed in the forum, fees for most immigration documents have increased. It is correct that a spouse sponsored Kitas/Kitap needs to have a sponsor from the same imigrasi area as the KTP. It is the same for a Sosbud sponsor. The max Kitas is 5 (V) then must apply for a Kitap or return and re-do from Kitas No.1 and get it authorised, leave RI and re-enter with an Itas...all that stuff all over again.
