I'm in Perth and my Mrs is Indo and stayed in Bali, was a conscious decision but yeah it sure is dragging on. But make no mistake without special permission etc we are currently locked in WA at the hands of the Mcgowan govt. Yes it will slowly open up, but politically Indonesia isn't exactly Aus' favourite country and if the lockdown process is anything to go by (all the "get out of Bali, don't go to Bali, Bali is not safe etc on the news) it's likely to be one of the last countries to re open for us is my feeling.
All that said I've done plenty of hopping back and forth from Perth to Denpasar and the reverse, if airport is closed, flights cancelled/delayed and you can't make July I'm pretty confident Air Asia would let you push out the dates. Perhaps worth shooting them an email if you can't figure how to do it on their site.
Just had a marriage proposal accepted by my Bali girl and then this damn virus intervenes. I agree about the attitude toward Bali here in Perth. The Tourism minister and Mr McGowan are determined to keep the dollars here in WA. All the "get out of Bali, don't go to Bali, Bali is not safe" etc on the news is playing right into their hands. That said I see from the Bali Sun that the infection rate is on the increase in Bali so maybe it would be wise to hang on for a while. My biggest gripe to be honest is the fact that the individual is not allowed to make a decision regarding going over there. The Government have shut the border and you do as your told or else. To me that's not the act of a democratic country. Fair enough, come back and you go into quarantine, that I can accept but not being told I can't travel if I want to.
