DIY only - life is way too short for that

DIY I think involves 3 trips to immigrassi. For me no car or scooter, so equals 6 taxi trips plus costs as listed by Smoke. Using agent was 1mill. for 1st and 750000 for 2nd. Plus 600000 for 1st 2 months at Consul in oz. Didn't have to do photos and fingerprints this trip. (55000). Was told would have to next year.

for my sosbud extensions in Lombok( fiances KTP is Lombok) I apply on a tuesday with my sponsor and get a return date of 3-4 days later. on that new day I pay the fee and then wait a few minutes and recieve my processed passport back and told see you in a month .This may be due to the agents "kindness" as they know we live in Bali and come to lombok to process the extension while we visit family .Since the new regulations began in July they want to see the sponsor each extension from want I am told I used an agent for many sosbud extensions in the past and never had to do the "mandatory" prints and photos.

Got my 3rd sosbud extension stamp today .asked the Immigration officer why we changed or address to the Lombok KTP . I recieved a reply of It will be a much easier conversion for you .The agent will be attending our wedding and bringing the application forms for my spousal Kitas . Lets see how fast it gets done since the ink on the marriage books will still be wet lol

very possibly but all business loans are only to my wifes cv and pt companies :icon_e_surprised:
Good idea smoke but you'll want to make sure your pre-nup covers that the CV/PTs are totally your wife's and you are not beneficial. Otherwise...any debt will be 50% owned by you...:icon_e_surprised:
Smoke
that would be in post nup after the marriage and that is the only way as I can not own a pt or cv but can assist wife in her biz or even make legal loans to it

I know why pre-nups are required in Indonesia when a WNI marries a foreigner. It protects the WNI spouse if he/she wishes to own, or has previously owned, freehold property..... but never heard of the reason for a post-nup and would be interested...is this some legal requirement and what does it achieve?
Smoke
from what I understand it a legal requirement per the civil code . I will ask my notary reasons why and do we have to keep updating it each property or vehicle purchase etc

If a post-nup was legal then the WNI spouse could hold freehold RI property in their own right, without this current restriction, where they have to dispose within a year.I don't think the restrictions affect vehicle purchase but it does affect Hak Milik property and CV/PT ownership because, without a pre-nup to determine otherwise, due to marriage law, all property is owned 50/50.....and foreigners are prevented from owning Hak Milik and CV/PTs.

Pre-nuptials is the only way, post-nup will get everyone laughing. Been there & tried it all, better to keep your wife's KTP single.

Fred2 so just the prenup prior to wedding . skip the post nup ? from your experiance ?

The Law Co. from Jakarta that advertises at the top of this page offers a good explanation.Postnuptial Agreements in IndonesiaIn summary, a pre-nuptial agreement is well understood in the 1974 marriage laws of Indonesia but the post-nuptial isn't even mentioned. One has to go back to some constitutional civil law to find reference. The pre-nup is often used by mixed marriage couples to permit the WNI spouse to own freehold land...and is the principal reason, in RI, to have that notarised.Post-nups are agreements that can be notarised, but do not seem to have the maturity of Indonesian law to be fully comprehended in terms of mixed marriage prevention of foreigners from certain RI regulations, in respect to property.I've never heard of a post-nup being used to allow the WNI spouse of a mixed marriage to own freehold land. It's an interesting point, however, and I'd love to see the success of this creative idea.

Smoke
not sure of jalan address but the one in renon and the one on bypass by airport both process sosbud extensions. Renon is usually less crowded
