Call for Runner: The 9th Superball Run 2024 Jakarta

The much-anticipated Superball Run (SB Run) is set to return in Jakarta on December 15, 2024. This year’s event marks the ninth edition of the prestigious race, which first debuted in 2014.

Like in 2023, the 9th Superball Run will take participants through the flyover surrounding the Epicentrum Rasuna Said area. Runners can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise as they race amidst Jakarta’s towering skyscrapers, from Casablanca to Antasari.

This year, the event will feature 42 international runners from the World Marathon Majors (WMM) and notable figures such as Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism (2020–2024), who will join alongside his brother.

The 2024 event targets 4,500 participants, who will compete for a trophy awarded by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). Participants can choose from three race categories: 5K, 10K, and 21K. The highlight will be the 21K race, which includes Male, Female, and Master categories (for participants over 45 years).

“Last year, we had 4,208 participants. This year, we aim to reach 4,500 runners covering our signature flyover route,” said Gunawan Samiadjie, Program Director of Superball Run 9th, on Wednesday, 12/04/2024, as reported by Tribunnews.com.

The Superball Run is renowned for its distinctive medals, made from metal and designed to be spun, adding a playful twist to its design.

Supporting Local Products

This year’s Superball Run carries the theme “Proud Indonesian Pride,” showcasing local Indonesian products. According to Gunawan, all sponsors and race packs for participants will feature high-quality, locally made items.

“The 9th SB Run 2024 embodies the spirit of Indonesian pride, with all supporting entities using the best locally made products,” Gunawan explained.
