“So, on Sunday, December 24, 2023, there will be a car-free day in the morning and car-free night during the evening,” he said on Monday (18/12/23,) as quoted by Antara News.
According to him, the car-free night will also be held during New Year’s Eve at the same location, Jalan Sudirman – Thamrin. “On the 31st of December, car-free night in Jalan Sudirman – Thamrin will begin at 7.00 pm local time,” he added.
Tempo says that Metro Jaya police have prepared more than 4,000-personnel to secure Christmas and New Year celebrations. “The personnel consist of police members, military members, local government, and other competent elements,” said Chief Metro Jaya police Inspector General Karyoto today.
Karyoto explained that the joint apparatus has convened to discuss possible threats and disruptions.
The apparatus also focuses its security at several tourist attractions and religious houses of worship. The house of worship must be sterilized before being used for mass, say Tempo.
