Three foreigners – one Australian and two Canadians – filed a complaint to the police after claiming that a visa agent had scammed them and caused IDR8.4 million (US$573) in losses.

DEB, 35, who is from Australia, as well as BP, 27, and PJC, 28, who are from Canada, pressed charges against KPP, 30, for scamming them. According to the foreigners, KPP claimed that he could help them with their visa extensions.

The three reportedly stayed at a hotel in Seminyak and gave the money as well as their personal data to KPP, originally from Buleleng, on April 25. They trusted KPP as they had met in person before, with one local news outlet reporting that the four are, in fact, friends.

After receiving the money, however, KPP was said to have ghosted them. The alleged victims claimed they did not hear from him even after two weeks since the transaction occurred.
