Since moving to bali the licker is yearning for those sweet, juicy, small "hand grenade" type pineapples it appears one can only find in thailand. Does anybody know where the licker could find them here? The pineapples in bali are so dry and sour in comparison.

Whilst on the subject of tropical fruit, the licker finds the mangosteens and mangoes here most delicious and ironically enough "bangkok durians" even better than their thai counterparts, however there is also a scarcity of fresh lychees, which in season are found in abundance in malaysia and thailand.

Best pineapples here are either the local Balinese ones (larger and yellow greenish, usually with the stalk left on) or wait until the "grenade" are yellow with black bits and down to 2/3 thousand each. The locals think the green, dry, sour pineapples are the best so I let them have em.

Mangoes are very seasonal (now is season) and ditto Mangosteens if you love Lychees then give the red, hairy Rambutan a go.
