I'm not a beach type, so Bali is still worth visiting for me. I never set foot on a beach on the south coast, and only occasionally walk on a beach in the north, never immerse myself in it even at home.
Typical dramatization by an Aussie rag, they are even worse than the UK rags.
Anybody with a bit of brain and before deciding on the date of an overseas trip should have a quick look on Google concerning the season and what goes with it.
Anyway in the old pensioner's beach ressort of Sanur, we don't have this problem.

You''re asking a bit much Balifrog. Every day on facebook pages, people ask what's the temperature today, when they're arriving in 3 months. Also what's the exchange rate.....I'm coming in July, and those people are permitted to travel ALONE!!!
