For a start best quality Cement is no more than 54,000 a Sack. Sand about 8-900,000 a big truck. Stone around 1,000,000+ a big truck. Depends where you are, what stone and how far it has to be transported.
Skilled builder no more than 70,000, helper/ laborer 35-40,000 a day.
Steel is expensive.

The last time I was at my cousin-in-laws shop I noticed the Toto brochure had the prices listed already. If these guys are contractors they should be getting cost price (%35 less), so no reason they should charge more, might want to check that though.

I have already done some research on Toto. All their rates are fixed prices and every shop will have the same published rates on all Toto products. The difference is how much "commission" you can negotiate on the published rate. The best discount I was able to get was 27.5%.

If you know a place or someone who can extend 35% discount please share :icon_biggrin:

The only people that could offer you %35 would be Toto themselves, %27.5 is a good price though, kudos on the bargaining skills. :icon_biggrin:

@Matt:the prices for workers in the north are certainly less than in the south.The mentioned prices seem close to what is asked in the local market in the south.The prices a contractor asks will always be slightly higher than when you pay someone directly.
You are right about price of cement,over here rp 56.000 per 50kg bag.

@Balibule:If the prices are ok or not depends on the kind of contract you make with your contractor.It is common the contractor asks for the published prices,and the discount he gets is his profit.If there is already a contractors fee mentioned,this is of course not good.
You might also make a contract where you provide all materials(or specific things)and the contractor gives you an estimate for the work only.
That way you are sure there will be no economising on cement,but of course it is a lot more work.(System borongan upah)

Anyway,unless you have ten bathrooms,the discount on Toto is a fraction of your building cost.It would make more sense to concentrate on the prices of the bulk material,as that would add up to higher differences if too tall.

There are some items that i do not understand,such as "alat bantu pengecoran"-help tools for concrete?-,while there is also a seperate price for concrete mixers and vibrators.1.200.000rp per m3 is a lot for tools.What kind of tools?
For comparison:when my pool was build,the beton/concrete was cast in one day,as it should.They managed to cast 55 bags of cement(and stone and sand of course) with the help of 12 people and a motor mixer,working from 8 in the morning till seven at night,in eleven ten and a half hour.Just half an hour lunch break.

If i were you i would ask pricelists from different contractors for comparison.
Good luck and make sure you understand exactly what is included or not in the contract.

I have only started. I know Toto is only a fraction but a lot of fractions make up a big amount. I am in no rush. I have a Balinese wife who loves negotiating and I am (still) enjoying the entire process.

The "alat bantu pengecoran" is Rp 1,210.00 per m3 (not 1.2juta)

Ok,i have been misreading.
But in my opinion,the comma should then be before the last two digits,as in 1.200,00.
In most currencies the comma is used to indicate the amount that is smaller than the currency itself.
I am not sure if it is always used this way in Indonesia,never paid attention.

Well 1,200.50 is in USA, Canada, UK, Australia, India, China, Thailand, Malaysia and others.
While 1.500,50 is in Europe (other than UK), all the former USSR, most of South America, Indonesia, South Africa and others.

discounts are not that hard to get, because they start of with overpricing..

prices for materials on the list are pretty much okey, just don't get the day wage (worker) and then on top of that the wage/costs for actually doing the work?
