The Indonesian Chef de Mission for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Raja Sapta Oktohari has addressed concerns among the national team that the food provided in Rio is not to Indonesian tastes.

The organizers of the Rio de Janeiro have provided 24-hour food stalls in the athletes village, but the cuisine does not match with Asian tastes and is not varied enough, according to complains.

"We are not satisfied with the food in the venue and athletes village, as it is not fresh or tasty," archery team manager Frederick Rosandi said in a statement received by the Jakarta Globe on Tuesday (02/08).

The team has called for support from the team at Indonesia's base camp, outside the venue.

"We have stayed here for five days and we are bored with the food as it lacks variation," Frederick said. "Indonesian food brought from the camp are more tasty, as it consists of Indonesian seasonings. We want more varied foods."

Raja has immediately acted on the issue, prioritizing the athletes needs ahead of the Games opening on Aug. 6.

"It is already done," he said.
