Nyepi March 17
Saraswati March 17

Balinese religious authorities, and the local government are still trying to figure out how to deal with this.
Two major ceremonial “events” on the same day.
Which one will win?

Anybody here got some thoughts?

I mentioned to this my wife who is not Hindu, but said they will allow people to go out to pray before 6am on Nyepi, where usually you wouldn't be allowed to go out from 12 midnight.

Yes, I was thinking that would be the only way.
So - Saraswati between midnight and 6 am on the 17th.
My past experiences and understanding of "the Day of Silence" is that it starts from 6 am and continues for 24 hours.
Never "started" at midnight.

Yeah, I think you are right JC, since it is a 24 hour time period. I'm not going to argue with my wife about it though...
