No internet for Nyepi

Hi Markit:
Am presently paying 340k/month for just 10gig internet...when I in fact am usually getting 20gig...
Are you paying only for the internet connection and not the "TV"/digital phone connection? (The 3-in-1 package?)
I have the 3-in-1and pay Rp470k/month for the 10Gbs speed.
My understanding is that if I want 20-50-100Gbs, I have to go to their office to do it. (Sounds stupid to me.)
I don't know how your connection worked through Nyepi at any speed. Not here in Sanur even with a robust VPN.
"Mystery"?

The lane where I live has recently been equipped with Biznet overhead cabling.
Their monthly packages are offering 10-100Gbs, including "TV channels") starting from 350k. The "internet only" might be even cheaper.
Meanwhile, will stick with Indihome for now and try to cope with the coming quasi "Nyepi conditions" (but, with the lights on, internet, etc).
And still pondering a potential lockdown of Indonesia, including Bali.

I've had, as I said, good experience with Indihome but I did look into Biznet when the quality of my Indihome connection went down for a week or 2. The problem is always trying to find the problem, if you understand my meaning - I originally thought it might be the new router they gave me. Having gone to their offices (always the most effective way to get anything done) to complain and possibly get a new, new router to see if that would help. Their Tech guy turned up without a router and said they'd been having problems network wide and that that should be over now - and he was right. But in the mean time I did look into changing to Biznet and their prices were very competitive with Indihome for a much faster connection (30 to 80Gb they promise, which is a pretty wide bandwidth difference) for the same price as I pay to IH. Problem was they don't come near me with their existing network and wanted to charge me a stupid amount for "their" router - if you go with them don't take the router and buy the exact same one online for 150k instead of their 900k. Good luck

Thanks Markit.
Please understand that I am not denigrating Indihome.
I "graduated" up to Indihome after many years of using Telkom Sepeda ("Speedy").
"Speedy" was quite OK, when it worked properly.
When it wasn't, Telkom sent me a techie, who was a bit of a rogue.
He would check who was connected to the junction box nearest to me and changed the connection to a better one.
Worked great. Unfortunately, he was finally busted by Telkom and lost his job. (Probably had many other "officially" unofficial "customers".)
The odd thing was that he didn't charge any extra for his "services", so I don't know what he was getting out of it.
There you go...a cyber philanthropist (or something). "Reverse whistleblower"? Naah.
I miss him.

Here's hoping that the internet (regardless of provider) won't suffer from Corona virus (the suppliers). It's a pretty much stand alone device ( the internet) but there is the odd server array that gets trashed or main trunk that gets run over by a ship. Fingers crossed cause isolation is only bearable with free porn/recipes/books/news/FB/etc/ (notice my first choice).

In 2007 the Australian Labor government committed to spending $43billion for a national fibre connection. in 2013 the project wasn't completed and an incoming Liberal government decided to save money by using a mix of fibre and 71% of Australians using the existing copper phone cables still in place. End result a very poor speed with Australian now ranked 50th in the world.

Now with so many more people locked down and using the internet speeds are worse. I wonder if Indonesia will experience slower speeds because of greater use with stay at homes? Certainly yesterday was very slow but the speeds have always been variable and rarely fast.
