First thing i did was learn as much indonesian as i could ,mainly basic greetings etc locals love it.
Also if you want to live here try Sanur in the east 30 mons airport ..fantastic and quieter area ..try to get beach side of Bypass.so near the beach and bike/walk track.

Also post specifics ..quite a FEW members will be very helpful.
