Not surprising it has now become international news.

The President was voted in by the populace because he promised to eradicate the old order...and now he nominated a new Chief of Police the same way as SBY nominated General Sutarman (current Chief), who is not due to retire till October.

Considering his nominee has been under KPK corruption investigation for a few years....what's the haste?

Most international media suggest the KPK either complete their investigation and clear the way for the handover...or make a charge.

A compromise has been reached.
The current Chief of Police has stepped down in favor of his deputy until the President's nominee's case before the KPK is cleared. He used to be Megawati's aid.
Another shuffle is the Detective Division Chief has been 'promoted' to the National Resiliance Institute?, located somewhere in the Tanah Abang market place...j/k.
Speculation is rife that the current Police Chief and the Detective Chief provided information to KPK in the Presidents choice of the new Chief.

Another interesting situation will develop on Monday when the President must swear-in 9 members of the Presidential Advisory Board. It is predicted that Megawati will be appointed to this powerful council...

Well the President swore in his 9 advisors yesterday and, unpredictably, Megawati is not included.....but some of her favorites are.

I don't think there will be much contention of the choices but some are big businessmen like the CEO of Lion Air, chairs of political parties, executives of Muslim organisations and ex Generals. They are all supposed to resign from all political parties, civil affiliations and state and private enterprise to be on the Presidential Advisory Board, within 3 months.....:icon_rolleyes:
