Anyone knows wher i can rent/hire a laptop for 2/3 moths, basic configuration it is ok since will only be used for writing an essay.

I did search before but looks like if the laptop can't be taken home but have to be used on their location but if nothing else available it would be ok

I haven't done this, but I suppose it'd be possible. You'd need to check this out yourself.
If they really only need it to write one essay. You could buy a bluetooth keyboard:

connect it to an android/iphone then type out the essay in the Microsoft Word app.

It would drive me nuts on such a small screen, but it'd better than nothing.
Or they could just go to an internet cafe.
