Some 130 participants from all over the world will attend the Miss World competition in Bali on Sept 4-15, 2013.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Miss World 2013, Jeby Philippi, updated Badung Regent Anak Agung Gde Agung on Tuesday.

“The event will also be covered by many journalists from each participating country,” said Jeby.

Participants will stay at Hotel Westin in the Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) complex, Nusa Dua, Badung regency, while the pageant itself will be held at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Pecatu, off the road that leads to Uluwatu.

Jeby hopes that the people of Bali will take part in the success of this prestigious event.

Regent Gde Agung welcomed and supported international tourism events in the region.

He also said he hoped the committee would ensure adequate security would be on hand to avoid any problems that might lead to disruption of the APEC summit’s agenda in early October 2013 in Nusa Dua.

The Regent wanted Balinese cultural performances to be included, with the Jepun flower, as Badung regency mascot, to welcome the participants of Miss World 2013.
