The life of a FIFO is often shrouded in the personal hardships depression, debt, boredom, sullied relations among others.

But such a scenario is not always the case.

During any hardship, some will buckle, some will endure and a few will find away to make even the most horrible conditions work in their favour.

Sean McInerney is an opportunist making the FIFO lifestyle work for him.

Wealthy, mobile and young, Sean has proven every year nine teacher who taught in the 1990s wrong. He did amount to something, and you can probably multiply that amount by three.

The mining industry has made living outside of Australia very easy, If you get the right shift & mine, starting wage is about $125,000 per year & if you work even time then you only work half the year. Hope he enjoys his lifestyle.

Nope , but at around $125K , it doesn't really matter. However remember that you work 12 hr days( and nights ), usually for 2 weeks straight and then get a week off .

That week usually involves losing effectively a day travelling to and from site in remote locations , the tax man hits you hard unless you invest in negative gearing type property or similar and you do not see the kids/wife/family for 2 weeks.
