A Lion Air flight destined for Harbin, China was turned back to Bali on Tuesday morning because it was reportedly barred from entering Hong Kong airspace.

Flight JT 2633 departed from Bali around 3:02 am but didn’t make it all the way to Harbin when Hong Kong authorities reportedly denied its passage.

When asked on Tuesday afternoon about the flight’s alleged permit problems going though Hong Kong, Ngurah Rai Airport General Manager Trikora Harjo said he didn’t have all the details, but did confirm with VIVA News that the turn-back happened.
