A British restaurant owner in Bali has been arrested after police said they found him carrying 500g of cocaine and accused him of being a drugs courier.

Matthew Kevin O'Neill, 40, was detained by officers on Saturday night in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok, Thailand after allegedly being found with the drugs.

O'Neill owns the Thai Gardens restaurant in the Umalas area of Bali and opened the eatery after living in Thailand for 10 years.

His mugshot is not particularly flattering. I hope he came quietly, I wouldn't want to be the arresting officer if he decided to put up a fight. Notice the Thai height chart doesn't cater for blokes 6'5" tall.

OMG I've been to that resto a few times as it's walking distance from my place and very popular with expats...I thought it was 'coz of the extended happy-hours but now..... I'm wondering why!
